Hi, The Ventura Highwaymen got their racing fix at the famous March Meet held at Famoso Raceway near Bakersfield, Ca.. Originally it was started by the Bakersfield Smokers and eventually run by the GoodGuys. It is now operated by John and Blake Bowser. This nostalgia drag race is the top such event in my book. This year more racers and spectators were present on the Saturday we went than any I can remember in the past. Lots of racers and quick runs made this an exciting event. Street Rods were shown, swap meet, and vendors plied there items and made the event even more interesting. I was able to take pictures right at the starting line but my camera was slow and I was even slower at pressing the button so not many of those shots came out. I hope you enjoy the rest of the pics.
