(January 18, 2013) I’ve been into street rods for the last 35 years or so but have been without a car now for quite a while…living in Florida for the last 25 years and riding custom bikes was what I was into but now, since I’m getting a little older, I have switched back into an old car.
I recently bought this car from a guy in West Virginia who bought it from another guy from Tennessee. This looks to be a quality build from somewhere in the early 90’s. When I got it, it needed some work. A/C and heat were in it but didn’t work; old QJet carb was not enough for the motor so I switched it out for a Holley Street Avenger. Hoses were dry rotted on the power steering pump and needed to be replaced, brakes needed bleeding and adjusting, rear shocks were also wore out and needed replacements. I still have a few things to do to it but all in all, it seems like a great car.
It has a healthy 350 in it with a big cam (unknown yet to me just exactly what it is) TH350 trans and a 4:10 gear. Mickey Thompson pro street tires on the back, skinny tires on the front hooked into a Mustang II front end. The interior and trunk match and is done with tweed and leather on the seats, headliner and inside the trunk.
If anyone recognizes this car, I would appreciate them getting in touch with me if they have any information on where this car was built or by who built it. Thanks.
