Over 500 pre-entered cars, trucks and motorcycles, combined with the hopefully best salt conditions in years, almost guarantee that this year’s event will be one long remembered. Many new vehicles are anticipated for the week-long speed trials on the fabled Bonneville Salt Flats near Wendover, Utah.
Entries vary from multi-engined streamliners with potential speeds over 500 MPH to motorcycles with less than 50cc engines that will struggle to reach 50 MPH. Each vehicle is unique and represents the hot rod spirit of the event. Every one of them hopes to establish an official SCTA Bonneville record in the multitude of classes available.
Racing starts Saturday, Aug. 8th, in the morning promptly after the Drivers Meeting and continues through Friday, Aug. 14th. The vehicles arrive on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 6th and 7th, for pit set-up, registration and inspection.
