17TH ANNUAL ROLLING IRON AUTO SHOW
ALLAIRE STATE PARK
FARMINGDALE, NEW JERSEY
We started off around 8:30 A.M. from Metuchen NJ on our journey to the 17th annual Rolling Iron Auto Show at Allaire State Park, in Farmingdale New Jersey, and arrived at the Show grounds a little after 9:00 A.M. At that hour, we were lucky to find a couple of parking spaces in the main lot, which is quite a change from years past, when one could roll into this Show as late as 9:30 A.M., and still get a good spot near the Pine Creek Railroad fence, in the main Parking Lot at Allaire State Park. The variety of vehicles at the Show was, fantastic, with a nice showing of pre-war vehicles, a refreshing change from what has been the case at many Shows I’ve gone to in the past few years.
In addition to the Show, the narrow gauge Railroad, the Pine Creek Railroad, was in operation, offering train rides on their loop of track that runs through a part of the State Park, and Allaire Village, a former Bog Iron mining town, was also open for those who wished to take a tour of the restored Village.
All in all, a great Show, with something for everyone.
