Riegelsville, PA
Sunday, November 4, 2018
Unlike so many Car Shows this 2018 season, not only did the Riegelsville PA Show run on its scheduled date, but the weather was as perfect as one could want for a November day. While it was a bit chilly in the early morning, by mid-morning, and on into the rest of the day, it was comfortably warm.
The only minus for the day was due to heavy rain the day before; approximately 50 spaces were not usable, as the ground was too waterlogged to allow show vehicles to park on it.
The turnout was strong, with probably a couple hundred vehicles filling every available space on the Show field, and a number of parts, automotive memorabilia, and other vendors lining the edges, front and back corners of the show. The Riegelsville Recreation Board also vended T-shirts, sweatshirts and mugs.
Food was plentiful, with a variety of on-site food vendors, and the Prosperity Lodge offering their all you can eat breakfast at their location, just a short walk up the street from the show field.
The gates opened at 7:00 a.m., and the show wrapped up around 2:00 p.m. after the 50/50, and awards presentation. One of the award winners was my friend Jeff Roscoe, with his 1951 Dodge.
Our group left the show field a little past 2:30 p.m. Overall, a fun day, and an uneventful trip back home.
