The 28th annual Unforgettable Autos Car Show kicked off officially at 10:00 A.M., but participants began arriving as early as 8:00 A.M. While at first the waves of arrivals indicated there’d be the usual robust turnout of participants, by around 11:00 A.M., it became apparent that attendance wasn’t going to up to past year’s levels. All in all, 113 vehicles were scattered across the Parking Lot of the Dunellen New Jersey NJ Transit Parking Lot (a.k.a. Skinner Plaza) when all was said and done. One reason for the reduced turnout mentioned by several participants, was that a nearby car club, and past participant in the Unforgettable Autos Car Show, scheduled an event of theirs on the same day. No law against scheduling an event on the same day, and in close proximity to another Club’s event, but it certainly wasn’t very considerate of the other Club, and hurt attendance at both Club’s events. The lower turnout though didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the participants, there were Vendors selling a variety of goods, plenty of good food and treats, the former provided by the volunteers of the Dunellen Rotary Club. The Show ran until its usual Awards time of 2:30m P.M., and by 3:00-3:30 P.M., another enjoyable and successful Show had come to an end. Next year’s Show is scheduled for June 7th, which is the 2nd Sunday in June of 2015.
