All systems are go for Sundays FIFTH ANNIVERSARY HARRIGANS ROD AND CUSTOM SHOW at Harrigans Drift Inn, Harrigans Lane Calypso Bay (Jacobs Well) on Sunday 14th. October 2012 – the Show ‘n Shine area along the marina, trade alley and all parking areas are looking awesome. All is in readiness for a huge show.

The show will feature premier, state of the art hot rods, classics, customs and street machines from South East Queensland and northern New South Wales. This hot rod show has gained a reputation as the best one day show of it’s type. This is the fifth year the show has been held at HARRIGANS and it’s predicted to be the best yet. We’ve marked out spaces for over 300 vehicles to be on show along the beautiful marina waterfront setting – please cooperate with our club volunteers whilst being directed to your allocated spot. Space will be at a premium so be there early.
Australia’s top hot rods and street machines have been winners here previously and have featured in national magazines. There will be freshly built cars competing again this year for bespoke trophies, awards and giveaways totaling more than $6000 (yes, flyers state over $5000 – sponsors have been generous even in these hard economic times). Competition in 34 categories (up from 26 last year) including Top Car of the show (Must be Street Driven, $1000), Harrigan’s Choice ($500), Top Elite Show Car ($500), Top Street Machine ($300), Top Hot Rod ($300), Top Muscle Car ($250) and Best Engine bay ($150).
Trade displays including clothing, Rock N Roll memorabilia and car parts, balloon shaping and face painting for the kids, garagenalia and a mega raffle will also feature on the day with great prizes including car care goods etc. Food and drinks will be available in the tavern and on the waterfront show grounds. Live Rock ‘n Roll music by Old 45’s, DJ spinning the cool tunes and giveaways all day. Action starts for entrants from 7:00am with gates opening at 9:00am for spectators. Entrants $15 for your car and two people and spectators $5 each, with proceeds to local charities. REMEMBER – No trucks or trailers past the Harrigans entry gate. All trailered cars to be unloaded near the Calypso Bay sales office.
Trophy presentation at 2:30pm.
Since our first show in 2008 we’ve donated over $14,000 to various charitable organizations from proceeds of the Harrigans shows. Charities we’ll support this year include Volunteer Marine Rescue, Cystic Fibrosis, Friends of Isobel (Cerebral Palsy sufferer) and Multiple Sclerosis.
