West Milford, NJ
Aug 16 & 17th 2014
Pictures By: Al Liebmann
Perfect day for a Car Show throw in a few Airplanes and you have 6th Annual Greenwood Lake Air Show. Beside all the KOOL KARS and overflow crowds filling Greenwood Lake Airport they were entertained by Indy Boys & Paul Stender with his Jet Bus and Jet powered dog house.Wicked Willy and his Jet Willys also wowed the crowd.
Not to be out done by the likes of Lucas Oil Air Show Team with Mike Wiskus and Lucas Oil Skydivers. More plane fun with Alabama Boys Comedy Team, flown by Greg Koontz in his Piper J3 Cub. In addition, Koontz perform awesome aerobatics in his Extreme Decathlon.A crowd favorite was the FLS Microjet flown by Justin Lewis. The Microjet is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s smallest jet. At a weight of only 860 pounds and a folded wingspan of only four feet wide, it’s no wonder it holds that record. The Microjet is best known for its use in the classic James Bond film “Octopussy.”
A very rare P51-C model Mustang, flown by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), performed fly-bys. Rounding out the air show lineup were Gary Ward, Raiders Demo Team, Greg Connell, Jerry McCart, and Kevin Russo in his vintage SNJ warbird trainer.
Not to be missed the displays and exhibits on and off the field, including many World War II veterans. Great Day will be back again for more PLANE FUN !!! ….. NJ Big Al
