’70 Cougar Convertible – Ed Mayer ~ Brookfield, WI. Some pictures of my ’70 Cougar Convertible. A brief history, I purchased this car from a friend of mine for $200 and a case of beer, in the spring of ’77. I started the restoration process in ’80 and completed it in the summer of ’92. The motor is a “BOSS” 351 Cleveland. The dash and all interior vinyl wood grain was replaced and custom made with solid black walnut, I reproduced all these parts in my wood shop. There were 2,322 of these car’s produced in ’70, last I checked there are 21 left that are registered with the National Cougar Club of America
