8th Annual Rescue Squad Car-Truck-Bike Show

South Plainfield, NJ
Sunday, July 19, 2015

The alternate title for this show could have been ‘Some Like It Hot’, and oh was it. The temps were in the 90’s, with matching humidity, but despite the inhospitable weather, 75 or so brave souls came out in support of the South Plainfield NJ Rescue Squad. Fortunately there were some areas where one could park, and hide under some trees for a respite from the blazing Sun, the Rescue Squad also set up 3 misting fans for attendees to use in order to cool off, plus since this year’s Show was in Thompson Park, participants had use of the bathroom facilities there, where one could splash cold water on their face to cool down. The bulk of the vehicles present, were of the four wheel variety, although there were a few nice Motorcycles on display, and one very special vehicle, one of the original 1960’s vintage prop car Batmobiles, used for the Bat Cave exits, and other shots where the car might take a bit more abuse than the studio was willing to subject the Show quality Batmobile to. After a few hiccups, the Trophy presentations got underway at around 3:30 P.M., and as classes were announced, participants began trickling out. All in all, a nice Show, and hopefully next year the temps will be a bit more

tolerable, and the humidity more within a tolerable range.
