Hi, I thought I would share my rebuild of a 1964 Chrysler 300 2 Door Coupe. It's a complete rebuild. The old 383 2 bbl is history and a brand new Chrysler Crate Hemi has taken it's place, along with a new 3.54:1 Dana 60 rear-end, Heidt's IFS Power Rack steering, 4 wheel disc brakes and many other modifications. All the body work on the car is being done by Old Coach Works Restorations in Yorkville, IL. The drive train, suspension, and Vintage Air work is being done by E&R Racing Services in Villa Park, IL. The car is also getting a Vintage Air A/C and heat unit. The original heater box on the firewall had to be removed to accommodate the Hemi. It's a "work in progress" right now and went to the World of Wheels Show in Chicago, at McCormick Place, and was shown that way as an exhibit. The body has had all the chrome removed, rust and damage repaired, and is currently in primer. The interior is still the stock 300 interior, tired but not bad for being nearly 39 yrs old. It, too, will be replaced, but I'm undecided yet whether I want to go stock with a Legendary Interior kit or something custom made.
