“The Vintage Vehicle Show”

In his early years Lance was hanging out in car dealers showrooms, pumping gas at the local Signal station at the age of 12, building model cars and even attempting to drive his parents 1956 Cadillac at the age of ten. His teenage years were filled with $100 cars, active participation in the Steeds Car Club and occasionally being required by the local authorities to give up his driving privileges. His love for the automobile increased as he matured into adulthood and continues to this day. Lance is an active participant in several car clubs, has automotive articles published locally, nationally and internationally, is frequently asked to make personal appearances at automotive and charity events and, much to his delight, produces and hosts the weekly VINTAGE VEHICLE SHOW.

Ronald Kregoski resides in Brighton, Michigan where he writes the Runnin’ on Empty column for Cruis’news Magazine as well as making periodic contributions to other national magazines. He is an avid hot rodder and his rides include a chopped, slammed and flamed ’34 Ford and the Norm Grabrowski ‘Kookie’s Car’ Clone.

For more than 34 years, Dick DeLoach has made a career of chronicling his lifelong passion, the automobile. Though raised in Colorado, his heart was always in the California Car Culture. As the editor of his college newspaper in Denver, his love of writing and photography grew. Finally, just before his 30th birthday, DeLoach and his family moved to Southern California so he could pursue his dream of becoming an automotive journalist.

From the early days of lead sleds and custom vans, to mini trucks, street rods, lowriders and sport compacts, this prolific journalist has had more than 1,250 features and technical articles published in some two dozen national and international consumer and trade magazines. He was editor of Truckin’ Magazine for several years, then technical editor for Lowrider Magazine (and unofficial “Lowrider Ambassador” at large) for nearly 16 years. During that time he also freelanced to EDGE, Street Rodder and Vette magazines.

For the past two years DeLoach has contributed heavily to DUB Magazine, and has added Street Trucks, King of the Street, Street Low, Speed Style Magazine and HotrodHotline to his list of credits. 

DeLoach was lucky enough to marry his soul mate (Cindy) nearly 44 years ago and is the proud father of one son, Tate. When not attending a car show or a swap meet, or on deadline, he enjoys playing computer games with his grandson Michael.

Jessica began racing in 2006 when she competed in Kart racing in the Comer 80 and Jr. Superbox Classes. After becoming successful at Kart racing, she moved into a Jr. Midget on the dirt and earned many wins and competed for the Jr. Midget Championship. In 2008 Jessica won a spot in Ron Sutton’s Winners Circle Driver Development Program (RSWC). After racing a USAC Ford Focus Midget for two years, the 17 year old joined High Point Racing to drive a Limited Late Model. Jessica hopes to earn Rookie of the Year in the series. While making the transition to a full-bodied stock car, Jessica will continue to race a Ford focus Midget.

Born in San Diego Steve comes from a line of enthusiasts going back to his great grandfather who helped to create the first Indy 500 winner the Marmon Wasp. Along the way Steve was formed by experiences with both motorcycles and cars.

His father (also Steve) grew up in Indianapolis and is an avid motor sports fan. Together they attended motorcycle events at Ascot Park and sports car racing at Del Mar and Riverside. Sharp’s father owned and worked at Yamaha shops in Pomona and Escondido. While in high school Steve cut his teeth behind the parts counter and found his passion in kart racing during 1971 a sport which he is involved to this day.

Linda Lucas and Gary Magner are both active members of the Minnesota Street Rod Association and long time hot rodders and hot rod fans. They both provide individual columns for Hot Rod Hotline, and every once in awhile come together to share some of the history, and personal stories connected to the associations they are connected with.

Gary began his love for hot rods and customs during grade school when attending local car shows and then building custom model cars and entering them in model car contests.  His first car was a 57 Chevy 2 door hardtop that he ended up building into a very quick ride on the 1/4 mile as well as the street.  He had his share of speeding tickets to prove it. 

In 1967, he joined up with a small group of car guys and it was then that  MSRA was developed on a St. Paul parking lot and the business meetings held at a pizza joint.  Since 1972 many cars have come and gone but the 34 Ford Tudor is still in his garage next to his 40 Ford Coupe.

Dave Brackett grew up in the Pacific Northwest, and like most kids in school in a water sports area, he drew racing boats and hydroplanes during classes. 

That all changed when he moved to Southern California in 1958 as a high school freshman. His interests changed to race cars and hot rods. He took welding, machine shop, and drafting in high school, then got a four year degree in Industrial Technology, from Fullerton College, majoring in auto shop, welding, machine shop and engineering. Getting his drivers license in 1959, his first vehicle was a 1949 Cushman motor scooter. He had to be different, so he painted in light blue, with pink and yellow flames, and did some modest customizing.
