Behind the Door – Ford Piquette Avenue MODEL T Plant

As the birthplace of the Ford Model T car, the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is recognized as one of the most significant automotive heritage sites in the world. The first Model T built for sale was completed on September 27, 1908 and still on display today. . Production began with a trickle—just 11 Model Ts were built in October. By December, production rose to 200 cars a month. Soon, every available inch of the plant was devoted to the enormously popular car. Engines and axles were assembled on the ground floor. The second floor housed light machining and sub-assembly untill outgrowing and relocated to its new Highland Park Plant in 1910 ….    A must place to visit on any trip to DETROIT !    https://www.fordpiquetteplant.org/
