Made a stopover at Throttle Jockey Originals is a custom hot rod fabrication and speed shop located in Long Island, New York. The business is owned and operated by T.J. O’Grady, whose father was a race car driver who instilled a passion for vintage autos.

 TJ spent many late nites with his dad and all he wanted to do is build cars, but what does that mean. he didn’t want to build race cars or muscle car and he wanted to create cars.

In 2005 he started the build on the Time for The Golden Ticket. TJ put a lot of time and money into a build that he thought would reflect his idea as a car builder. It  was accepted great at Detroit Autorama, Goodguys, NSRA. Winning many awards and magazine articles. 

The TJ started to take in customer builds in 9 years he figured close to15 builds and plenty customer cars. Finding my specialty in Model A Fords. Since they are reasonably priced and small enough for one man to build. TJ is a one man shop ( that’s the secret ).  Today TJ build Mostly model A’s from stock to full Hot Rod. Always reinvesting in himself and the shop.

With a daughter now it makes it harder to spend late nights in the shop and sacrifice for the build but I have a great wife who supports my goals. Throttle Jockey Originals you can trust that each car is treated as one of their own and that passion and commitment to quality shows in every model .
