Billy Thomas 1939 Oldsmobile Conversion Wins Ridler Award

The 2016 Meguiar’s Detroit Autorama is done for another year, and Billy Thomas of Georgetown, Texas took home the Ridler Award.  His immaculate 1939 Oldsmobile convertible has been a long time in the making by Harold Chapman and his crew at Customs & Hot Rods of Anice, located just north of Austin, near Georgetown, Texas.

The body is all handbuilt and styling cues were taken from a ’39 Olds Convertible Model 60. The body sits on an Art Morrison Enterprise (Fife, WA) chassis. The one-off whels are wrapped with Pierelli rubber and the suspension is a RideTech system. It’s powered by a Joe Mondello prepped 455-inch Olds that features a Wilson Racing one-off intake topped with Don Cherry EFI and valve covers.

Congratulations to Billy Thomas on this incredible recognition!
