The Northern Michigan location is essential to Classic Instruments, “We love the great outdoors, but it really is about the people!” This makes the company's efforts to support local businesses and people in their quest to fight COVID-19 feel even more personal
Mayfair Plastics in Gaylor, Michigan is producing protective face shields of their own design for hospitals and first responders. Classic Instruments has been laser cutting out the shields from material supplied by Alro Plastics,as well as providing some 3D printing assistance for the team at Mayfair to assemble and ship the shields.
Additionally, Classic Instruments has been able to lend support to a huge effort right in its hometown of Boyne City by creating two additional prototypes of shield for local businesses, Shaggy’s and 1-800-Stencil. Classic Instrumentscompleted the prototypes to Shaggy’s and 1-800-Stencil’s design specs and a final tool for production use was made in less than one week. They are providing the plastic molded headbands to Shaggy’s and 1-800-Stencil for assembly.
“We are blessed to maintain enough staff in our machine shop to be able to assist these amazing people that care so much about helping others,“ said Classic Instruments owner John McLeod. Classic Instruments has been handcrafting in America since 1977.
