After months of wanting to get there, I finally made it to the Classic Knights Cruise Night on Ferry Rd, in Old Bridge NJ. The event is held in the Parking Lot jointly shared by a Friendly’s Restaurant, and A & P Grocery Store, and now a Sleepys Mattress Store. Despite having lost some Parking Lot to the latter business, the Classic Knights still put on a really great event. I arrived at a little after the official starting time of 6:00 P.M. to an already fairly full Show Field, but managed to secure a spot next to my what was the predecessor to my Plymouth in the base model offering of Plymouth, a 1956 Plymouth Plaza. While the majority of the vehicles present were 50’s, 60’s and newer vehicles, there was one notable pre-war vehicle, an original Dodge Brothers Dodge from the 1920’s. At 8:30 P.M., the Dare Trophy Raffle was called, the 50/50 Raffle, and then the Trophy presentations began. Both my 1960 Plymouth Savoy, and the 1956 Plymouth Plaza next to my Plymouth, won Trophies. Kudos to the base models for tonight. I hope I can spare some time to get back to this Cruise Night, and only time will tell how well hopes match reality.
