We were sent this from Sam Flowers who received it from someone who received it from someone .... You get the point... No one really remembers where this originally came from but we thought it would be of interest....
Folks,
You really have to see these photos. The cycles are Hard-Tail Indian-Police models. You know how bad it hurt when you hit a pot hole or RR Tracks at faster than walk speed, no wonder I am two inches , in height, shorter than I was in 1960. Check out the uniforms and guns on these guys, one has a pearl handle. I was born in 1938 and Albert Skinner was elected Sheriff that year. I started as a Deputy Sheriff in 1960 and we wore the same outfits as these boys; check out the putt-tees, britches and big gloves, brings back a whole lot of old memories. A couple bikes have electric sirens on the handlebars, a little hard on the teeth if you stop fast. No wind-shields, no kick stands, they used a rear wheel lift bracket to keep them standing up when stopped and notice the size of the saddle bags.
