"Cars in Barns", Field cars and other "Treasure". Al's persistence pays off when he finally gets his find.
I found this car in the hills of LA in 1992. It belonged to my girlfriend’s relative who was 90-years-old or so at the time. His brother bought the car in Indianapolis new in 1935 and then drove it to LA in 1936. The coupe was driven till 1962; around when the first brother died. The motor was pulled for a rebuild that never happened. There it sat until I found it in '92. It wasn’t for sale, but I was persistent. Living in the Vancouver area of Canada, once a year I made a trek to lala land where I would visit Art the second brother. After 12 years of politely bugging him, he said he thought he would sell me the 35!!! It even came with a pink slip from '62 and I recently got pictures of both the brothers and the car way back in the day. Fast-forward to today, the car’s been redone for a few years now. I started with a super solid body, with very little rust or damage of any kind, put in a 383 Stroker 700R4 and a 9" Mustang 2 up front and a black leather interior. My baby now runs and drives like a new car, and goes like one too! This is one that definitely did not get away. Thanks for a great site. Al Schneider
