Here's a genuine dry lakes roadster from southern California that has been restored to a concours level receiving many awards including the Bruce Meyer Preservation Award and AMBR runner up at the Grand National Roadster Show , best in class at the Amelia Island Concours, first in Class ( over the Doane Spencer car) at the Concours on Rodeo, and the Preservation Award at the Detroit Autorama.
It was chosen as one of the 75 most significant deuces for the 75th anniversary this year, and was awarded a National Junior Award by the AACA. It appeared at the 53rd Pebble Beach Concours in 2003 in the " Road Racing Rods" Class and was displayed at " Eyes on Design" in Detroit.
After several appearances at national hot rod events it was driven over 5000 miles including the Colorado Grand and the California Mille.
The car participated in vintage racing at the Monterey Historics as one of the "Great American Specials", the featured marque in 2005.
This car was restored over the course of nearly six years by Dave Simard at East Coast Customs. This example of a west coast channeled car with it's full belly pan exhibits symmetry and proportion that is difficult to capture with a channeled car. The car will be auctioned during the Monterey Peninsula car celebrations this August.......own a piece of hot rod history! Dr. Mark R. Van Buskirk
