Spencer and Betty showed horses for 30 years but now they are down to one horse, so they converted their horse barn into showrooms for Spencer’s 1941 Ford Pickup and Betty’s 1932 Ford Coupe. Let’s take a look and see what all they did.
Our Barn. We showed horses for 30 years. Now we are down to one horse. | We converted the back 4 stalls into showrooms for our car and truck.
The side walls are the outside of Spencer and Betty's bedrooms.
We turned the center of our barn into a Texaco Station. | Spencer's Showroom for his 1941 Ford Pickup. We had murals painted on the wall, a lot about our life. As you drive in the room you face a drive-in movie. American Graffiti is playing and all the cars from the movie are painted parked at Mel's Diner. The cars parked at the movie are a few of our friend's cars.
This is from Spencer's drag racing days. This is Suffolk Raceway. The cars taking off at the light are the first two cars Spencer raced and the two getting ready to stage were his last two cars. For Christmas Betty gave him a Christmas Tree to keep up his quick action. | A mural of Spencer's transmission shop, started by his dad and later Spencer added on to enlarge the show.
The Roadster was Spencer's Dad's car and now Spencer is building one like it. | Betty's Dad, Mom and Grandfather owned a dry cleaners and her dad used to deliver clothes in his 1940 Sedan Delivery. Now her brother runs the cleaners.
Work bench helps decorate the room. | The next six pictures are of Spencer's showroom.
