Led by Andy “The Rodfather” Brizio and Goodguys founder Gary Meadors, the tour leaves the Bonneville Friday the 14th and continues east through Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin and on to Indianapolis for the Goodguys 2nd WIX Filters Speedway Nationals at Indianapolis Motor Speedway September 21-23.
There to capture it all on film will be the cameras of Route 2 Media. Known for their hi quality event videos (like this one), Payton and Julian will follow the tour in a mobile editing studio providing an exclusive look at all the action. Besides the thousands of road miles, Chad and the Route 2 cameras will be there for the all of the tour stops. Stops include Kindig-it Design (Salt Lake City), Wyotech (Laramie, WY), Pinkee’s Rod Shop (Loveland, CO), Speedway Motors & Kuck Motorsports (Lincoln, NE), The Dennis Albaugh collection (Ankeny, IA) Heidt’s Hot Rods & Muscle Car Parts (Wauconda, IL), The Roadster Shop (Mundelein, IL), Billet Specialties (La Grange, IL), Rad Rides by Troy (Manteno, IL), the Richard Munz collection (Madison, WI) and the Indycar race shop of Dryer & Reinbold (Indianapolis), before ending at the Goodguys 2nd WIX Filters Speedway Nationals. Return trip tour stops include George Lange and Jack Stirnemann’s private collections of cars (St Louis, MO) Darryl Starbird’s Custom Car Museum (Afton, OK) The Hot Rod Garage (Amarillo, TX) and the Unser Museum (Albuquerque, NM).
“This is a historic event worthy of being captured on film,” Route 2 Media’s Michael Julian said. “We will provide nightly video recaps, tour blogs and photo galleries. Chad Reynolds of Bangshift.com will be riding with us so between the three of us we will be able to provide great coverage. Andy Brizio and Gary Meadors are two of hot rodding’s founding fathers and have always been ardent promoters of driving, not just showing hot rods. The Rodfather/Goodguys Road Tour is tailor made for filming. We’re just as excited as the hot rodders to hit the road.”
