This was my first car, a 1939 Ford Convertible Sedan, nosed and decked, running boards removed, ’49 Mercury flathead, White Naugahyde interior, 15′ wheels and brakes from the same Mercury.
Bought it in Ohio in 1960 for $300 – I was only 15 so my Dad had to drive it back to NJ. Second picture was taken on the PA Turnpike on the way home – wish Dad had kept that ’59 Cadillac Convertible!

Drove that Ford through three years of high school, parked it and moved up to a ’55 Ford Victoria Coupe and then a ’57 Oldsmobile Super 88.
I moved the old Ford around the country a number of times – Pittsburgh, South Bend, St Louis, Atlanta, and Chicago while I worked on restoring it. Finally sold it in 1985 and bought a Jaguar XK120 Roadster.
