Metuchen, NJ
Wednesday, July 5, 2017
The 3rd in the series of five Metuchen Downtown Cruise Nighst was held tonight (July 5, 2017), and despite it being the day after the Independence Day holiday, the turnout of both participants, and spectators was very good. The vehicles filled nearly all the spaces from Penn Ave by the Train Station, to Highland Ave. Two contributing factors to the good vehicle turnout were the warm, but not too warm temperature for the evening, low humidity, and keeping the event on the first Wednesday of the month, instead of postponing it, due to the Independence holiday. My 1982 Ford Fairmont even made an appearance at the Cruise Night, as did a Pink Fire Truck, dedicated to raising awareness of Breast Cancer, along with a variety of classic vehicles, hotrods, and a few Motorcycles. Voting at the Registration Table was brisk, and around 8:30 p.m., the winners were announced.
