Duane Clark, Gold Canyon AZ. My 1937 Ford Sedan Delivery. I first saw this delivery in the 1980s; it was at a house in Prineville, OR. I talked to the owner but it wasn’t for sale. Over the next 23 years I would stop by now and then to see if he would sell it, but still, no was the answer. He drove the car often. When I first saw the car it had a flathead engine but he put a 350 in it later on.
I looked him up in early 2002 and his health was getting bad; he said he would trade it for a '46 sedan if I could find one. A couple of weeks later I found one and called him. His phone was disconnected - I went to his brother's house, but he had moved to Wisconsin. I got the new address and wrote him a letter. About a week later he called; his brother had passed away and his ex-wife was trying to sell the car, so I called her and bought the car that day.
I totally went through the car because it had never been painted (always in black primer) - took me about four years to get the car done. All original sheet metal came with the car, except the hood - even had two tail lights, because the car came from Oregon which required two taillights.
