E-Stopp E Brake System FAQ's

The E-Stopp® is the perfect e-brake for custom vehicles and winner of the NSRA new safety product of the year at the  43rd Street Rod Nationals in Louisville . It not only frees up room on the chassis and in the cab but doubles as an anti-theft device when the button is hidden. It works with any kind of brake system that can accept an e-brake cable. The kit comes with the actuator, the control box w/ switch and wire connectors all at an affordable price.

The E-Stopp replaces your existing hand, pedal or lever brake and mounts conveniently under your vehicles carriage. The E-Stopp attaches directly to your current E-Brake cable and has a micro-computer that regulates the proper amount of pressure to your braking system.

Other features include a rugged exterior casing, audible recognition (required in some states), visual recognition on the button itself and an optional ignition safety device.

E-STOPP FAQ

Q: What kind of brakes does the unit work with?
A: Any brakes that can accept an e-brake cable.

Q: Can it hook to both brakes?
A: Yes, most e-brake cables run to both brakes. If yours do not, you can buy a simple adapter to combine cables.

Q: Will the unit drain my battery?
A: No, once activated the unit locks onto itself and draws nothing from the battery.

Q: What happens if my battery dies?
A: The unit remains activated until power is supplied back to it.

Q: Where should I mount the unit?
A: With encased cables you can mount it anywhere you have room. On the chassis, under the floor board or even inside the cab. (Avoid high temperature areas).

Q: Is the unit weather proof?
A: The actuator is double layered weather proof. The control box is not and should be mounted in the cab.

Q: How many inches of travel does the unit have?
A: About 3 inches. Most systems only need about 2. The unit stops itself once it feels 600 lbs of resistance.

Q: Is the E-Stopp NSRA safety certified?
A: Yes, though it must be hooked to both brakes.

Q: Do you sell replacement parts?
A: Yes, call to inquire.

Q: Will the unit hook up to my existing e-brake cables?
A: Yes, it actually makes for an easier install.

Q: Can I get a different button?
A: We only supply one switch assembly. A professional electrician can wire a new switch but it voids our warranty.

Q: I don’t have a resale permit, can I get a price break on
multiple units?
A: You can call and ask.

Q: How does the optional ignition safety device work?
A: All units have this feature. It basically turns the unit into a parking brake instead of an emergency brake. Recommended if it’s being installed in a car that kids will be in. You don’t want them to accidentally engage the system when going down the road.

Q: Is the E-Stopp DOT certified?
A: Yes and No, the DOT only certifies brake hoses and calipers. We have spoken to them and have their blessing.
