This 1964 Buick Electra 225 two-door Sport Coupe with just over 78,000 miles on the odometer is ready for touring or showing. With five different body styles, the two-door sport coupe is one of the rarest models with only 9,405 produced.

The Electra 225 was designed by industry luminary Bill Mitchell and is a fantastic example of 1960’s Buick opulence from the inside out. This Sport Coupe was purchased new by Mr. Bonanni on December 14, 1963 from Keyser Motors in Lansdale, PA.

They enjoyed the car for the next 24 years. According to service records, this Buick had traveled 50,000 miles by July, 1981. Al Cowlings of King of Prussia, PA bought the Buick from the original owner and has owned the car for 32 years, acquiring it in 1988 with a mere 54,000 miles accumulated.

Since then, Mr. and Mrs. Cowlings have added 24,000 miles travelling to various Buick Club and AACA events. Finished in it’s original Teal Mist Poly and Arctic White paint, this fine Buick is ready for a cruise that is sure to turn the heads of the younger generations and spark the memories of those that remember seeing the Electra 225 back when the car was brand new in showrooms around the country.

The long, straight, slab-sided design is a classic and accentuates its long and low sleekness. Looking to the interior, you will see a charming interior that is truly a time capsule. From the clear plastic seat covers, covering the completely original and stunning vinyl and brocade seats that Buick was known for, to the original carpet and factory option Buick tri-shield floor mats, the feelings of nostalgia are sure to rush back.

The clock was standard on the Electra 225 but the AM radio was an option that was checked on this specific 225. Behind the wheel you will notice quickly that this Electra 225 is equipped with power brakes and power steering. These aids give you a sense of control and add to a truly inspired driving experience.

This sport coupe was made sporty with its original 401 cubic inch “Nailhead” motor with an impressive 455 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with the new for 1964 TH-400 three-speed automatic, you know from the start that this stunner is ready for an open road cruise.
While you admire the originality of this 225, you will notice that the original heavy die cast grille does have some pitting throughout. While the paint speaks to a car that has truly been garage kept and has stayed away from inclement weather, there are imperfections in the paint at the very front edge of the hood line. All of the other finishes are believed to be original.
