This Florida Eldorado has had the same owner for 50 years and was the first car in the couple’s Cadillac collection. If you like your luxury cars the way they were meant to be, this one's for you. Long, low, wide, large and most definitely in charge you are looking at 19 feet of rolling sculpture built before anyone had ever come up with the term downsizing. Drop the top and you own the road, ready to take a trip back to a time when the only computers were room-sized machines at NASA. What’s a cell phone? Unplug, load up five or six of your favorite friends and enjoy the ride.
This is what personal luxury looked like in the ‘70s when you had the means to express your success. The Eldorado of this year was very tastefully done. This one was purchased in Sarasota in 1972 and has lived its entire life in Florida. In the seventies to the early eighties it was a daily driver then became part of a collection, climate controlled garage kept, meticulously maintained and exercised regularly. It comes with an extensive record of receipts, the original owner’s manual and a clean and clear title in the Owner’s name.
The original paint is Casablanca Yellow with a white convertible top that suits this body style in a very classy way. The grill is stately, the badge is from the Cadillac/LaSalle Club, the lines are long and flowing, the sculpted rear fenders break just right with a nod to the Caddy’s of the ‘50’s. Every angle is a treat and you will never see styling like this again. It’s big, luxurious, bold, muscular, elegant and has a very impressive presence. You make a statement of independence, fun and success in an Eldorado like this one.
Acres of white leather with wood grain accents welcome you and 5 passengers comfortably with only the sky above you and a world to explore. Your arm will get tired acknowledging all those thumbs ups you will be receiving and if so just head out of town and stretch its legs a bit. You ride in style with all the amenities including, leather seats, power everything, ice cold A/C, cruise control, power mirrors, tilt steering wheel, plush carpets and a nice sound system with a factory 8-track.
500 cubic inches of American iron motivates this icon with 400 hp. This V8 is smooth, quiet and powerful and is mated to an automatic transmission for effortless acceleration. It pulls like a luxurious train. This is a cruiser for lazy Sundays or open air road trips. Put six bags of clubs in the trunk and take your friends for lunch and a round of golf at the country club or let the valet park it at the Beverly Hills Hotel and take your date for dinner on the patio. It has only 116,552 miles with under 1,000 miles driven in the last 16 years.
This is a show quality survivor and has had many updates the last few years including new brakes, new radiator, belts and hoses, new carb, new power top components, transmission service, new A/C condenser, and a new fuel pump. Even the clock works and has been disconnected to save battery life when stored. The original interior has some cracks in the leather as to be expected for a large convertible that has enjoyed fun in the Florida sun. The underside has never seen salt or snow and the body shows no signs of rust or previous damage. It is straight down the sides and the chrome trim shines brightly. The engine has a ton of power and it rides like a Cadillac.
You just don’t see many of these in this kind of condition anymore. 1971 saw the last of the golden years of muscle cars and the full sized luxury cars that ruled the day, an era when horsepower was king and size mattered. The next few years were a tough time for the luxury cruisers and many of them went away. Don’t miss your chance to recapture some of the unlimited feeling of the early seventies when everything was possible. Experience the era of bigger is better and enjoy this great investment. There will never be anything like this fantastic Eldorado ever created again.
