This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro convertible combines an awesome color scheme (basic black never goes out of style) and a highly-polished appeal that makes it a strong contender for the ultimate summer cruiser. Small block V8 power, an overdrive transmission, and timeless good looks are part of the package, too, so we'll throw them in for free.
Interestingly, the cowl tag says this one was originally code D Nantucket Blue, but when it was restored a few years ago every square inch of visible sheetmetal was covered in beautiful black urethane for an authentic look, which was then further punctuated with painted-on Gray stripes that complement this droptop perfectly. Feel free to come into the showroom and look closely, even in the door jambs, trunk, and engine compartment, and you'll discover a very nicely finished F-body. Of course, this car looks like someone spent a lot of time on it, with good gaps and panel alignment and evidence that the entire car was thoroughly block sanded before being sent to the paint booth. It shows a few very minor signs of use, but who can resist the allure of a Camaro convertible on a sunny day, especially one that turns heads like this? It's also nice to see familiar Camaro performance cues like the cowl induction hood, chin spoiler, ducktail spoiler and a blacked-out grille that gives it a somewhat sinister look. Furthermore, it's not all covered up with obnoxious catalog-ordered SS badging that confuses the car's identity, so it has an all-together honest look that is incredibly appealing. Chrome bumpers, bright wheel-arch trim, rocker-panel moldings, and polished stainless on the windshield surround all add some glitter to this otherwise serious F-body.
There's nothing better than a black-on-black color combination, so like the exterior the original Blue was swapped in favor of an all-black vinyl set-up that looks fantastic as a perfect complement to the shiny black exterior. Neat seat covers with correct-looking pleated seating surfaces look great, along with the matching door panels and plush black carpets below that tie it together quite nicely. The center console is highlighted with a T-handle shifter, although the shift selections don't match up with the updated transmission, and a trio of auxiliary gauges were neatly installed just above it. Factory gauges are in those deep-set pods and cover speed and fuel level, while a big AutoMeter tachometer was strapped to the column to mind the revs, and it's joined there by a sporty Grant steering wheel. The AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash is longing for an upgrade, but tunes aren't needed once you drop the black vinyl top and enjoy all the open-air cruising greatness that this Camaro provides. Out back, the trunk is surprisingly spacious and it's been neatly detailed with spatter-paint that shows off just how solid the pans on this droptop really are.
Pop the hood and you'll find a potent 350 cubic inch small block V8, which packs big power and torque without adding a ton of weight. Not intended to look stock although not straying too far from its root either, it has bright Chevrolet valve covers and a matching open-element air cleaner, as well as Chevrolet Orange enamel on the block itself. It's running great thanks to a Carter Competition Series 4-barrel carburetor, a polished Edelbrock aluminum intake, a full MSD ignition system, and a massive BeCool aluminum radiator that keeps the whole show nice and cool. Hooker long-tube headers feed a rumbling dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, and you'll note just how clean things are underneath – with solid floors and newer suspension components throughout. The transmission is a 700R4 4-speed automatic spinning a 10-bolt rear with a heavy-duty B&M diff cover, plus there's power steering and 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, so it's a blast to drive and the components are virtually bulletproof. Flashy Boss Motorsports wheels carry staggered 235/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear performance radials fill the wheel wells with an aggressive look.
With lots of performance and a very clean, sophisticated look, this droptop Camaro is dialed-in and ready to be enjoyed Day 1. What are you waiting for, call today!
