Imagine you own a classic car for 33 years. You made it better than new, 99% correct, you collected so many trophies with it that you had to sort them out. You had it featured in music videos, in a movie even, in a 2003 Snap-on calendar and on HotRod TV magazine. And now imagine, you reach a point where you no longer wanna drive it, because you're simply too afraid something could happen to your baby, and that you rather see it in good hands of someone else who can appreciate it than being permanently concerned about it. This is exactly what the owner of this wonderful Chevelle SS is going through. But his loss can be your gain!

Originally a Georgia car, this Chevelle went through an extensive frame-off restoration before it made it's way to Massachusetts, where the owner's best friend from down the street made it his. Our owner wanted the Chevelle already back then, but didn't get his hands on it until 1988, when his friend went through a divorce and offered the SS to him. In order to make it as perfect as possible, he completely stripped and repainted it again in 2015, and in 33 of ownership, he added not more than 11,000 miles to the odometer which now reads 81,268 original miles. The clean Massachusetts title is in the owner's name.

It is safe to say that the bodywork is probably better than new. Originally painted in blue, the straight and clean body was resprayed in “Bolero Red” - absolutely no body filler was used. No repairs were necessary on the dent free, completely unmolested, original sheet metal. The paint is flawless, the chrome is in excellent condition, so is all glass and weather stripping. American Racing Mag style 15” wheels contribute to the classic, muscular look. The Diamondback Redline tires were installed last September.

Expect nothing, but excellence from this interior. The black interior with black vinyl upholstery, dash pad, headliner and carpeting is simply flawless. All electric gadgets work exactly as designed. All gauges including the aftermarket cluster for oil, amps and water temperature mounted under the dashboard function perfectly. The dash holds a a Kenwood cassette radio, in the stock position. The head unit is not wired for stereo, its just am/fm/cassette , the dash trim and center console trim is shiny and has no dents. The trunk lid inside is an interesting compilation of signatures from celebrities encountered on many events, video and movie shots.

The numbers-matching 396 cu in. Turbo Jet V8 was upgraded with ARP head bolts, Edelbrock camshaft, Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock 750 CFM carburetor and an electronic MSD ignition system, with its control box hidden under the dashboard. The Turbo 400 automatic transmission has a shift kit installed, the aluminized exhaust system has a slightly bigger diameter. The entire undercarriage looks like new, completely free from rust, dirt and liquid weeping; bushings, coil springs and brakes are new.

Chevelles there are many. Numbers-matching Chevelle SS, there are some, excellent numbers-matching SS there are few. When the 1967 Chevelle SS is your thing, but can't really go wrong with this one – unless you dislike the color “Bolero Red”. The owner loves red and he always loved this body style, and he probably accomplished everything with this SS that all classic car fans dream of: A wide coverage in the Automotive media, many trophies and awards, and even parts in movies and music videos. He now hopes to find a loving, caring home for this fantastic Chevy, with an owner who appreciates the flawless condition and keeps carrying on the torch.
