Description:
INTRODUCTION: This #s matching Corvette has been restored to an exceptionally authentic standard. The body off frame restoration was completed with the clear intent of presenting the car for judging, and that effort proved highly successful after being scrutinized and inspected by numerous expert judges. It recently earned both the prestigious NCRS Top Flight Award and Bloomington Gold Award honors. The judging sheets, awards, and restoration receipts will be included with the car.
EXTERIOR: This beautiful coupe design looks every bit as good as the day it rolled off the assembly line. The body is outstanding- straight, and showing no signs of damage, I couldn't find even a stress crack. The headlight doors fit the body better than any I've ever seen, and they open and close properly. The doors fit great as well and open and close effortlessly. It was repainted in its original Milano Maroon, with the fine metallic laid out evenly and polished to the proper shine. It appears that all of the chrome and trim has been replaced. Even the glass was replaced and features the correct markings. The jambs are properly sprayed in a correct duller finish, and the weatherstrips have been replaced. It's rolling on correct blackwall reproduction tires wrapped around spinner hubcaps, completing the authentic factory look.
INTERIOR: I'm sitting in what may be the nicest C2 Corvette interior I've ever experienced. Everywhere I look- every nook and cranny- the fit and finish is like brand new, reflecting the quality expected of a judged show car. The gauges have been professionally restored, including the correct 6,500 rpm redline tachometer. Even the clock has been restored using its original movement rather than a quartz conversion, so it ticks exactly as it should. It features a factory AM/FM radio with a power antenna. The glovebox door, liner, and dash pads are all in mint condition. The center console is excellent, complete with the correct reverse lockout shifter, while the bowtie seat belts present beautifully. Fresh carpet runs front to back with an excellent fit and includes reproduction floor mats. The seats have been completely rebuilt with new cushioning and upholstery, showing no wrinkles or marks. The door panels and hardware look brand new. All trim pieces, steering wheel, visors, and the mirror are in excellent condition. The interior lights are functional, and it even retains the correct jack in the storage compartment behind the seat.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This has its original matching #s 327-365 hp engine which was professionally rebuilt and balanced, photos and receipts are included. It was actually dyno tested at an impressive 416 horsepower, delivering exceptional performance while retaining its factory correct pedigree. Equally impressive is the authenticity of all surrounding components. It features NCRS quality detailing throughout, including the correctly dated alternator and water pump, deep groove pulleys, factory aluminum intake manifold, finned aluminum valve covers, correct air cleaner, and both upper and lower ignition shielding. Fuel delivery is handled by a restored and correctly dated Holley carburetor, complete with the proper fuel filter and choke tube. The radiator has been fully rebuilt and is properly dated, with correct hoses and clamps, along with the correctly dated overflow expansion tank. Attention to detail continues with a reproduction Delco battery- not just a cosmetic topper- paired with spring clamp cables. The washer system is hooked up, all finishes are beautifully done, and the wiring appears fresh, neat, and professionally routed. This is a highly detailed engine compartment, restored with judging in mind, and it was successful!
UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame, and every component was rebuilt and restored to factory specifications. The fully independent front and rear suspension has been completely rebuilt and carefully detailed, along with the steering system. As the first year for four wheel disc brakes, the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is especially desirable, and every part of the brake system has been replaced, including the lines and e-brake assembly. It features a factory correct reproduction off-road exhaust, with mufflers properly stamped "off-road," giving the car a deeper, more muscular tone. Looking up at the engine, it is spotless in correct Chevy Orange and fitted with the proper canister oil filter, correct starter, and lower ignition shielding. The correctly numbered Muncie 4-speed trans has been properly rebuilt and detailed, while the restored driveshaft leads to the correctly dated Positraction rear end with 3.70 gears. The frame and chassis components wear a smooth semi-gloss finish, and the fiberglass floors are pristine in their natural raw state, just as they should be. Even the spare tire carrier is complete, right down to the original lock.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.
CONCLUSION: Yes, this is an exciting 365 hp Corvette coupe with a 4-speed and a posi that makes it an absolute joy to drive, but it's also been restored to a level few cars ever achieve. With award winning authenticity, proven pedigree, and standout presentation, this is the kind of opportunity that doesn't come along often. Someone is going to get an exceptional value and a truly special Corvette. Will that person be you?
