Looking for a fun short-wheelbase 4x4 that's affordable and loaded? This 1989 Ford Bronco II XLT offers distinction and ability... and it's all for quite a nice price.

With the new Bronco Sport on the road, there's a renewed love for the real original right-size SUV, the Bronco II. And owning a later Bronco II has added distinction. Only the last couple of years shared the facia with the first-generation premium Ford Explorer. And while there was a two-door version of that vehicle, the top-wrapping side glass and squared-off 4x4 stance give this one a style all of its own (so it's almost like a rarer, extra capable Explorer.) The black paint gives this one a nice style that goes with the deep tint on the windows. And the darkness seems to also really showcase the bright bumpers, roof rack, and factory cast alloys. You may choose to use the value price to upgrade the finish, but also like it when a 4x4 looks good without being so perfect that it's afraid to get to work. After all, with the towing mirrors and Class III trailer hitch, you can think of a lot of added work and play that this classic SUV can do.

This upper-level XLT delivers a loaded interior with some very distinct features. For example, most Bronco IIs have front bucket seats, but the front bench here allows you to carry one more in a pinch. Plus, you can still fold down the center for individual comfort. You've got all the best features, like power windows, power locks, cruise control, a tilt steering column, and provisions for factory air conditioning (it will need serving to blow cold again.) And there's modern driving music with the stereo upgraded to an AM/FM/XM/CD unit with USB and Bluetooth.

These Bronco IIs have such a great off-road reputation because they combine a compact wheelbase with good ground clearance. As the penultimate year for this SUV, it received the best motor in the series: a fuel-injected 2.9-liter V6. It's unknown if the odometer reflects the full mileage, but the engine bay does have a nice and clean appearance. Plus, they come with a shift-on-the-fly electronic transfer case. This is an especially handy feature because when four-wheel-drive is suddenly needed, it's usually not during a situation when you want to go outside. But you don't have to leave the pavement to appreciate this more modern classic. Power steering, power brakes, front discs, rear ABS, and a four-speed automatic with overdrive make this one every day easy.

This is vintage distinction and true capability in one value package. So don't miss this Bronco II. Call today!!!
