Description:
This vehicle was purchased new in 1950 as a conventional Ford. In 1951, the owners decided to customizeit. It was one of the first customs to come out of CA. It made its first appearance when Hot Rod Magazine featured it in November 1959. I have an original copy of that issue.
The original makeover was radical for its time but many of the featuresare still a part of the rod as it exists today.
It has been repowered several times starting with a '56 Olds engine. It is now powered by a Chev 150.
In 1991, the rod was featured in Rod & Custom Magazine. There were several other covers for the vehicle as well.
Eventually, it made its way to the East Coast. It has been repainted to its famous original Lime Green color. The upholstery has been redone in white pleated--the headline was redone three years ago--It has dual exhaust--air conditioning & heat--radio & cassette. The gas tank is located in the trunk--all the door handles have been rplace with electric openers on the underside of the frame giving the car a sleek look.
The vehicle has beenwell cared for. While we owned it, it was garage kept.
