Falcons are a lot of fun with great personalities and are very unique. The advertising of the day featured the characters from the comic strip, Peanuts. It was the basis for the ‘64 1/2 Mustang and is a favorite of hot rodders. This Futura Sports Convertible has an upgraded interior and trim over the base models. Stock and unmodified, it’s a great base for a preservation restoration or full custom from here and is only limited by your imagination.
Sporty and affordable with a high fun factor and designed as an economical sporty second car to be parked next to your giant Galaxie 500, it has its own identity now as a fun and very unique classic all on its own. The Falcon chassis also played a big role in the history of the Mustang. This one is looking forward to continuing its journey. The Owner had one when they were new and just bought another one. Clean and clear title in his name.
White over Blue is a great color combination, sporty and classy. Top down motoring opens you up completely to the environment around you and the sky's the limit out on a country road on a sunny day. The lines flow smoothly and every angle is a treat. The grill is inviting you to go for a ride. New fans will love it as much as those who remember. The power top works great and the black canvas, frame, clear plastic back window & black tonneau cover look sharp.
Two-tone Blue vinyl interior and gray cloth aftermarket buckets outifit the interior. The Futura has an upgraded interior with bucket seats, factory seatbelts and chrome trim. It's comfortable and entertaining, straightforward, just you and the open road. It’s an experience that puts a smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel and for everyone you meet along the way. Heads will turn and thumbs will be up. Original AM radio is included. No computers!
It has a 200 cubic inch Mileage Maker Inline Six and a C4 3-speed automatic transmission giving you plenty of cruising ability and 30 mpg. You won’t be doing many burnouts at the dragstrip, but you will comfortably motor down the highway, zip around the lake or cruise up the coast and if you like, make plans for that 289. Electric fan keeps it cool. Inexpensive to maintain and easy to work on, these engines have a reputation for dependability.
It’s a driver, not a show car. Some rust underneath, but the floor pan has been replaced from the firewall to the trunk. The paint and chrome show some wear and so does the interior. Firestones are good, engine runs strong and transmission shifts smoothly. Suspension and shocks may need some attention. Demonstrating the power top for the inspector, the soft top and back window show wrinkles, but the top is actually quite new and in great condition.
At one time, like a lot of classics back in the sixties, they were just used cars and people couldn’t wait for the new models to come out. A lot of cars like this went away and this one is very special having had no modifications over the years. The convertible top really makes it a very desirable collectible and Falcons continue to increase in value. This is a very affordable opportunity to get into the classic car world.
