Description:
2007 Ford Mustang GT Foose Stallion Edition
For consignment, a 2007 Mustang Foose Stallion Edition, a performance and cosmetic treatment that was reserved for under 300 Mustangs, (numbers fluctuate between 222 and 272 depending on source). This is car #30 coming to our Hallowed Halls with a title verified 44,712 actual miles, this drop top has plenty of life left and is rare among the Mustang special editions. It's been modified for gobs more power and is also signed by the man himself which adds to the mystique.
Exterior
The base is two stage Satin Silver but the Foose edition includes Black and Torch Red wide hood stripes that waterfall down the fenders to house the Foose emblem. The hood itself is a special version designed by Chip as are the front fascia and grille. The side molding, rear wing, and side marker are also unique to this car. The 20-inch wheels are exclusive custom aluminum Foose wheels and are polished to the nines. The billet gas cap and white and red rear tail lights were not part of the package and likely added later. The black canvas top and glass rear window are in good condition. We note some scraping under the chin, a few chips in the front bumper cover, and some curb rash on one of the wheels, otherwise the car's paint is in great condition.
Interior
With the exception of the Foose labeled speaker, the door panels are standard GT here. As was common with this generation, the perforated inserts likely came loose at some point, and we note some extra glue to hold them down. Yes, it even got loose in a Foose! The seats are custom embroidered with Foose Design on the headrest and the tuck and roll leather looks great on the front bucket seats and the rear 2+2's. With the top down, the style bar gives an extra sporty look and sits between the front and back seats. The steering wheel is standard but the silver faced 140 MPH speedometer is Foose branded. The center stack contains the entertainment screen and heat and AC controls and above the glove box we find the pre printed autograph topped by an actual autograph in Sharpie ink with car number. A Hurst shifter is in the center console in a perforated leather boot. The low pile black carpet is protected by, yep, you guessed it, Foose branded carpeted floor mats. The smaller Mustang trunk is lined in gray padded material and appears to have had some use but is overall clean.
Drivetrain
The 4.6 liter 3-valve V8 is in place and puts out 335 horsepower, 35 more than a normal GT thanks to special cold-air induction and an ECM with performance tune. We'd venture a guess that the engine is putting out more ponies than the factory rating as our consignor states the car has been modified and the rumble of the engine backs that statement up with ease. Unfortunately our consignor did not provide a detailed list of the mods. A Tremec TR3650 5-speed manual transmission sends power to the Ford 8.8-inch rear with 3.55 gears and TracLoc. Power disc brakes are charged with slowing and stopping the car and feature Baer Declerators with drilled and slotted rotors on all four wheels.
Undercarriage
Everything is clean and dry underneath with the typical surface rust on the driveshaft, rear diff and axle. This is where we find race inspired suspension that includes MacPherson struts up front and 3-link, coil springs, and panhard bar, and sway bar in the back. Ford Racing Performance provides the axle back high flow exhaust to stock style mufflers and this car has headers added.
Drive-Ability
We've driven our share of 2007 GT's and this one feels just a little bit different. With the Foose additions and consignor stated modifications the car's got some extra giddy up and handles notably better than your standard GT and sounds a little better too. Braking is on point and happily, all the bells and whistles work. We give this car an "A" for performance and an "F" for Foose!
You'll never confuse this with another special edition as the brand Foose is written in 22 places on this car, (move over, Jack Roush). And why not? He's a well regarded leader and celebrity in the car hobby and has done quite a bit for the industry. Here's an opportunity to get into a rare version of a 2007 Mustang GT and certainly if you collect Mustangs, this is one to have.
