Description:
This Volkswagen Type 2 Bus is a beautifully done adventurer. This restored VW is impressive with the bright paint, useful interior, big sunroof, and vintage details. So no matter if your travels are cross-country or just a day camping at the car show. This feels like the stunner that can do it all.
This was restored in 2022, and there's an excellent photo album documenting the work that went into this Bus. It's a Brazilian-built VW with restoration in South America, so it has not had any time to see extreme weather since its ground-up restoration. The yellow paint looks exceptionally vibrant, right down to the wheel wells. The South American heritage is important for another key detail, the windows. The German-built vans never had this classic-style 13-window configuration for the second-series Type 2s, but today we love the traditional style and wraparound rear glass. A creamy white top paint, straight full-length trim, two-piece wheel covers, and bright chrome bumpers are all about giving you a terrific vintage feeling. But what we like about this is that the full impression does not want to be an overly done van. These are meant to be functional, so you'll still readily take this one on a road trip. After all, the dual roof racks are beautiful with their wood slats and VW logos, but they are also truly handy for extra cargo space. And those tires may look like classic whitewalls, but they are modern touring tires ideal for a true cruiser.
The interior is pure retro cool, giving you a classic style with a modern twist. For example, the upholstery has a 1970s vibe with a unique stripe pattern on the seats and side panels. However, this new faux/eco leather feels fresh and supple. There are plenty of handy upgrades like LED lighting and cup holders. But there's also a nice feeling of retro camping features. You see it in places like the full curtains for the windows, folding side table, and wood-like cabinetry that maximizes space as the Westfalia campers had. And yes, this all folds flat into a bed so that you can lie down, open up the big fabric sunroof, and look at the stars all night long. Plus, you have the right conveniences like a 4,000-watt inverter, USB plugs, sink, stove, and refrigerator. You can tell they took extra time making this into a true home-away-from-home. Attached to the sink is a fold-out table with a space to plant a full umbrella. There are even nice extras like an outdoor table and a doormat that coordinates with this van. It lets you know this one welcomes extra attention and extended stays.
The engine bay continues this Type 2's fresh style. So while the color-matched look of this 1600cc powerhouse makes it show-worthy, we like all the newer pieces that make it a hardy road-ready machine. We're even told it was fully rebuilt as part of the restoration. The long list of new components means this fires up readily, idles nicely, and the four-speed shifts smoothly. So you can feel it's ready for an adventure. Plus, features like modern ties, power brakes, and front discs make it a solid driver.
Complete with the restoration photos. This is the freshly redone VW Bus ready for new stories and escapades from the open road. Call now!
