      <title>1962 Chevrolet Impala</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/chevrolet/impala/1962/listing/251028</link>
<description>INTRODUCTION: Experts estimate only 300–350 Golden Anniversary Chevrolets were produced in total, across all models and engine combinations. This example represents the ultimate- an authentic #s matching Super Sport equipped with the most powerful motor available- the 409-409 hp. It has undergone a body off frame restoration back to factory condition, presenting as it would have when new. Its authenticity is supported by the original trim tag on the firewall, along with letters from the first 2 owners that owned it for a combined 35 years.

EXTERIOR: The body is not only attractive- it's practically flawless. It's been thoroughly inspected from top to bottom and is straight, clean, and I found no signs of rust or damage. The panels fit square and flush, and the doors close with a solid, proper feel. It's finished in its unique Golden Anniversary metallic color. The metallic is laid out evenly, and the clear coat is polished to a beautiful, high gloss finish. Being a Super Sport, it features the correct machine turned trim along the sides and tail panel, along with SS emblems and the crossed flag 409 badges. It also has a sporty rear mounted antenna and a bowtie mirror on the door. All the chrome and trim is bright and shiny. The glass is crystal clear, and the weatherstrips have been replaced. It's rolling on reproduction BF Goodrich Silvertown tires with SS spinner hubcaps, completing the look perfectly.

INTERIOR: It is finished in pale yellow upholstery with gold trim which is unique to the Golden Anniversary models. From carpet to headliner, everything has been replaced with quality reproduction materials, giving it the look and feel of 1962. On the floor is the correct gold and black speckled carpet, along with the proper bezel surrounding the 4-speed shifter. The original linkage is included with the car, though it's currently upgraded with a new Hurst shifter for improved performance and feel. Between the freshly upholstered bucket seats sits the factory center console, part of the Super Sport package, along with the grab bar on the passenger side dash. It also features the optional dash pad and a vintage Sun tachometer mounted on the column. Interior lights are functioning, and all the trim presents beautifully. It truly feels like stepping back in time... or better yet, sitting back in 1962!

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is the ultimate powerplant for 1962- the legendary 409 topped with the optional 409 horsepower setup! It features an aluminum intake with dual four barrel carburetors and is #s matching, restored with great attention to detail. Correct components include the glass fuel bowl, proper choke tube, reproduction spark plug wires, and the dual snorkel air cleaner on top. It's equipped with the correct slant top radiator (unique to a 409), reproduction hoses and clamps. Power steering and power brakes make it as enjoyable to drive as it is impressive to show. Everything is complete and properly assembled, right down to the washer system with its concentrated fluid bottle. It even has the Sun tachometer transmitter and proper spring clamp battery cables with a disconnect. All metal surfaces are neatly painted, and the original cowl tag remains intact on the firewall, identifying this as a Golden Anniversary car.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Absolutely clean, complete, and presented just as it would have been in 1962. Under the trunk lid and jamb are painted as nicely as the exterior. Inside is spotless metal finished with a neatly applied gray spatter paint. It's detailed right down to the correct decals, weatherstrip, and trunk mats. It also includes a restored jack assembly and a spare on a matching rim with a reproduction tire that's never been used. Even the trunk reflects the same level of care and authenticity found throughout the entire car.

UNDERSIDE: The body was removed from the frame for a thorough restoration back to assembly line condition. I'm genuinely impressed with how clean the metal is. The floors, braces, and inner rockers are dry as a chalkboard and finished in a smooth satin black. The X-frame and chassis components are just as clean and properly detailed. The steering and suspension have been completely rebuilt, along with the brake system, which still has a functioning e-brake. The fuel system was also replaced during the restoration. Looking up at the engine, it's neatly finished in proper Chevy orange and equipped with the correct starter and canister style oil filter. It has its #s matching T10 4-speed trans, and out back is the original posi rear end, correctly dated for the car.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: Not only was this an extremely rare car in 1962, experts estimate only a small percentage have survived and among those, how many are Super Sports with the 409/409 hp? This could very well be a one-of-one! In terms of its features, condition, and documentation this is a collector's dream. Opportunities like this don't come around twice. If you've been waiting for something truly special, this is it.

<description>This beautiful Roman Red and Ermine White 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS looks every bit the part of a classic cruiser. The front and rear chrome bumpers pair perfectly with the two-tone paint scheme, while the rest of the brightwork and trim continue the car's clean, classic presentation. Red steel wheels with funky stock hubcaps and brand new whitewall tires add a bit of vintage character to the Impala's stance. Up front, the grille appears correct, and the rear taillight arrangement is just as it should be. All emblems are present and properly placed. The glass is free of damage, the light lenses are clean and clear, and the doors, deck lid, and hood all shut with a solid feel.

Inside, the interior remains very stock and finished in red, showing well for its age. Vinyl front bucket seats with a small center console between them give the cabin a sporty touch, while the matching door panels keep the look consistent. The red carpet and white headliner both present nicely with no major issues to note. The stock steering wheel is in good shape, and the gauge cluster houses clean, easy-to-read gauges. An old-school air conditioning unit sits neatly under the dash, with heat controls located next to the ignition. What appears to be the stock radio remains in its original location. The rear seats are clean, as are the door jambs and sill plates. Out back, the trunk is tidy and equipped with a spare tire and jack.

Under the hood sits a Chevy Orange–painted 327 cubic-inch V8 topped with a Weber 4-barrel carburetor. Mated to the engine is a Powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission that sends power to a stock rear axle. Factory-style front and rear suspension provide a smooth ride, while manual drum brakes at all four corners handle stopping duties. The 14-inch wheels wear Impala hubcaps and are wrapped in brand new 205/75R14 whitewall tires, with a spare in the trunk. A stock-style dual exhaust system finishes things off with just the right hint of V8 rumble.

      <title>1962 Chevrolet Impala</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/chevrolet/impala/1962/listing/218077</link>
<description>Please see car on our website Hotrodcollection .com

The 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS with the 409 cubic inch engine and 409 HP is an extremely rare and iconic early muscle car. Most of the high-horsepower dual-quad 409's were ordered with minimal options to be drag racers. Yet somehow a few escaped from the factory loaded up with options. This is one of those off-the charts-rare vehicles since it's a 409 HP dual-quad Convertible with the SS Package, a 4-speed, Positraction, bucket seats, shifter console, power windows, power top, power vent windows, vacuum-operated trunk release, top boot, and 4-way flashers. On top of all that, it's finished in the most desirable color combination, red with black interior. It simply doesn't get better than this.

This incredible car was featured in Super Chevy Magazine in 2002, was owned and babied by one owner over the last 20 years, and shows pride of ownership and careful maintenance throughout. The engine compartment is detailed like a concours show car, yet make no mistake, this car is meant to be driven and delivers the thrills like it should. The paint, convertible top, and interior are all in excellent condition. The car has been kept quite original, though to enhance drivability and safety, the front brakes were upgraded to 12" discs and a brand-new set of Schott wheels and Redline tires were just installed. A set of stock-type steel wheels and original spinner wheel covers are available. Modern sound system installed.

You can fly in and drive it home with confidence, or simply have us arrange to ship it to you anywhere in the U.S. No matter how you choose to make this legendary example of muscle car history yours, the thrill of top-down, high horsepower big-block 4-speed cruising awaits you.
