      <title>1957 Ford Thunderbird</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/ford/thunderbird/1957/listing/251600</link>
<description>There's something about a '57 Thunderbird that just hits right. Ford had already shaken up the scene in '55, but by '57 they had the formula dialed in, blending sport, style, and just enough luxury to make it the boulevard king. This example, finished in a vibrant yellow over a cream interior, captures that final and most refined year of the first-generation T-Bird, a year collectors chase for its improved handling and cleaner design.

Under the hood sits the trusty 292 cubic inch V8, a Y-block that delivers smooth torque and that unmistakable vintage rumble. Backed by a Fordomatic automatic, it's the kind of drivetrain that makes cruising effortless, whether you're rolling into a weekend show or stretching its legs on an open highway. Power steering and power brakes keep things civilized, giving you confidence behind the wheel without losing that classic feel.

Visually, this Thunderbird leans into its era with wide white tires wrapped around wire wheels, a combination that instantly transports you back to the golden age of American motoring. The removable hardtop gives you flexibility, offering sleek coupe styling or open-air freedom when the mood strikes. Add in power windows and an upgraded aftermarket air conditioning system, and you've got a classic that's as enjoyable to drive as it is to admire.

Inside, the cream bench seat keeps things period correct while offering a clean, inviting cabin. The floor shifter adds a sporty touch, reinforcing that this wasn't just a personal luxury car, it was Ford's answer to the growing demand for performance with style. Even details like the original radio, still in place, remind you of the car's authenticity and heritage.

With 1957 marking the end of the two-seat Thunderbird era before Ford transitioned to a larger four-seater, cars like this stand as a snapshot of a unique moment in automotive history. They are equal parts cruiser and icon, and examples with this combination of options and presence continue to hold strong appeal among enthusiasts and collectors alike.

      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/ford/thunderbird/1957/listing/237697</link>
<description>The 1957 Ford Thunderbird represents the final and most refined year of the first generation, a car that cemented Ford's answer to European sports cars with unmistakable American attitude. By 1957, the Thunderbird had evolved into a true personal luxury performance machine, blending style, comfort, and V8 muscle in a way only Detroit could deliver.

Finished in iconic Flame Red, this convertible wears its jet age curves proudly. The longer rear deck, reshaped front bumper, and subtle fins distinguish the 1957 model from earlier cars, making it the most desirable of the early Birds. Dual exhaust adds the right soundtrack, while classic Thunderbird proportions ensure it looks just as good parked as it does cruising.

Under the hood sits Ford's legendary 312 cubic inch V8 paired with a smooth 3 speed automatic transmission. This combination was the top performance offering for the model year and helped establish the Thunderbird as more than just a stylish cruiser. It was a legitimate highway performer built for effortless speed and confidence.

Inside, the black and red vinyl bench seat interior delivers period correct flair with upscale touches. Power windows, power seat, air conditioning, tachometer, power steering, and power brakes reflect how advanced the Thunderbird was for its time. This is a car built for comfort, long drives, and admiration wherever it goes.

As the last of the original two seat Thunderbirds, the 1957 model holds a special place in collector history. Its blend of rarity, design evolution, and V8 performance makes it one of the most sought after American classics of the 1950s.

With its five-pot gauge cluster highlighted by a large 140 mph speedometer, the clean, expansive padded dashboard features a Sony AM/FM/AUX head unit with satellite radio connectivity. A minimalist HVAC setup provides air conditioning, while the custom center console offers dual cupholders and a comfortable armrest, something only dreamed of in 1957.

Under the front-hinged hood, we find a 302 cubic-inch V-8 engine topped by a single four-barrel carburetor, which resides under its domed air cleaner. Power from that small block is then channeled through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission before exiting through its dual exhaust and glasspack-style mufflers, giving this old-school roadster an authentic sound.

      <title>1957 Ford Thunderbird</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/ford/thunderbird/1957/listing/236819</link>
      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

For consignment, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible with a title verified 57,477 actual miles. This is a 3 owner car with two tops that really make it three different cars, a hardtop coupe, a soft top, and of course, a free wielding drop top!

  Exterior
Black as night, this '57 features single stage Raven Black paint on both the body and the accessory hardtop. Looking for a bit of contrast? Utilize the white canvas top for a two tone profile, or put them all away and let the air flow! A razor straight shoulder line terminates with a pointed fin in back capping the round tail lights, solid red in our example. The rear bumper is noteworthy as it protrudes rearward with oval gaps that house the exhaust pipes, curving around to capture the license plate in the center. Obviously, the hardtop portholes are epic and legendary and fender skirts with gravel guard ornamentation add to the attractive profile with forward momentum portrayed in the front fender trim. The unmistakable face grins wide and is topped by the hood scoop that completes the sporty persona. Imperfections include some chips, a scratch and drip damage and paint runs on the hardtop, and some soiling and wear on the soft top. Overall however, this exterior is in very nice shape.

  Interior
The black and white bench seat is in great shape, while the steering wheel, which was once glossy black, has a dull spot that tells a story and the metal horn ring is looking good. The dash, with its black pad on top and machined aluminum backing is in very good condition and the AM radio and vent control panel. Meanwhile, a ribbon of metal trim through the middle of the dash connects with the door trim and encircles the cabin in style. The short shifter rises from the transmission hump, covered in black loop carpet protected by white Thunderbird branded mats while the trunk is finished with a black mat and holds a spare.

  Drivetrain
Under the hood is a clean and colorful 312ci V8 pumping out 245 horsepower and fueled via a 4-barrel carburetor.  It's backed by a Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the Ford 9" in back with 3.70 gears.

  Undercarriage
Overall clean underneath with surface rust reserved for the exhaust, the dual system that runs through clean stock style mufflers on their way to the rear bumper. The gas tank looks fairly fresh too and power drum brakes are found on all four wheels. Suspension consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back. We note some oil on the rear differential and a few drops on the front.

  Drive-Ability
This well preserved classic starts right up and its 245 horses move it through the test loop with all the power you'll need at car shows and spirited driving. She tracks straight, handles well, and blind spot visibility is a small sacrifice for the epic coolness of the accessory hardtop with portholes. All functional items available to the driver operate as they should and we glide this beautiful black bird back to the mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

You could call us "Classic Thunderbird Mall" as we've represented 36 1957 Thunderbirds over the years, and dozens of other baby birds, most of which found new homes and happy owners. This one will likely keep the trend alive as it's clean, low mileage, and in a color that will never go out of style. If you're a young collector, know that this is a classic that will still be iconic in 20 or 30 years. If you're a seasoned hobbyist, you need to own one if you haven't already!

      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

For consignment, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible showing 1,326 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This California car was subjected to a frame off restoration and its near flawless presentation now includes a saddle leather interior which was not an option in '57 but is the perfect complement to the exterior red.

  Exterior
If you're going to have a classic Thunderbird, why not have it legendary Flame Red and top it with a matching hardtop, porthole and all! The epic, artful lines of the Thunderbird persist with the forward leaning headlights bookending the eggcrate grille, a power bulge hood scoop on top, forward canted ornamental trim on the fender, modest fins over the round tail lights, and for '57, the jet like exhaust ports through the rear bumper. 14-inch chrome wire wheels exude opulence with 205/75R14 white wall tires and  fender skirts keep things aerodynamic and add another notable feature to the profile. The chrome and paint is fantastic with minor imperfections noted as a chip near the hardtop and one near a tail light.

  Interior
A turned aluminum insert dresses this and most Thunderbird door panels, here surrounded by saddle stitched leather and topped by a polished trim piece that matches the window frame. Tuck and roll patterning serves as an insert for the saddle leather bench with only minor creasing on the driver's side and bright red lap belts. The saddle rimmed steering wheel is show worthy along with its horn ring and it leads to a sculpted dashboard of leather and metal with complementing black faced gauges as the spun aluminum moves to the right to take in an AM/FM/Cassette radio of more modern vintage, the A/C lever panel, and knobs over a matching A/C unit. The chrome shifter favors the driver's side of the transmission hump over gold carpet with vintage style red rubber mats protecting it.  Gold carpet returns in the trunk where its tan trim outline is contoured to the curvature and cut outs of the trunk itself and a spare tire is perched at the ready.

  Drivetrain
A red painted block, the Thunderbird finned valve covers, and other clean metals dress this show worthy engine bay where you'll find a 312ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and rated at 245 horsepower. It's mated to a Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission routing power to Ford's formidable 9" rear with 3.10 gears. The car runs on a 12 volt system and includes power steering and power brakes.

  Undercarriage
Bring some long mirrors to the show, you're going to want to let everyone see just how spotless and bright the underside is with a glossy black X-frame, satin red underbody, and dry conditions on a better than new presentation. Here we have power drum brakes at all four wheels, dual exhaust the flow through stock style mufflers, and suspension that consists of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back.

  Drive-Ability
With such attention to detail, what are the chances the drive-ability goes wrong? Close to 0% we would say and the short drive around the loop bears that out. The car runs strong and quiet, with plenty of power underfoot and excellent tracking and handling. All, yes all functions on board operate as they should on this award winning Thunderbird. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

If you're looking for a driver quality Thunderbird you can flog over dirt roads and grassy knolls, this ain't it. If you're looking for a nearly pristine show car quality ride that delivers more eye candy than the Candy Man can, and a smooth running drivetrain that assures delivery, then this is your car. You might not have the only red Thunderbird, but you'll have the uncommon spec of a saddle interior which only adds to this car's specialness.

      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/ford/thunderbird/1957/listing/231514</link>
      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

For consignment, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible with a title verified 100,767 actual miles. This is the closest thing to an original owner Thunderbird you'll likely see as our consignor has owned and maintained the car since 1961. The engine was rebuilt at 98,700 miles and a new soft top was added in 2008.

  Exterior
Bathed in Colonial White, the smooth, two stage coverage of this car would make Moby Dick envious. We note a tasteful contrast in the reddish paint behind the hubcaps, which is bordered by 14-inch white wall tires, the epitome of class in the era. Side fender trim and subtle gravel guards on fender skirts add some panache to the sides while the amazing and low chrome bumper is more shapely than previous years and lacks the torpedo accents. The rear fender is nothing short of a work of art, contouring to the body line of the car and providing integrated portals for the exhaust to exit. Though different from early birds, the tail lights maintain their jet age presentation with prominent fins jutting out in a wide Y profile. Two tops come with the car; a black canvas soft top and the Colonial White accessory porthole hardtop, both in very good condition. Imperfections include various cracks in the paint.

  Interior
Handsome door panels with swooping spun metal insert that helps set the stacked colors and materials of the dashboard and we note the driver's armrest is coming loose. The black vinyl bench seat with white ribbed pleats is in excellent condition, sporting a small hump in the center to delineate the sitting area, but not large enough to prevent your partner from sliding over if the mood strikes. The black steering wheel is accented by a chrome horn ring and column which finds its home under the arched instrument cluster backed by that spun aluminum with inset gauges all featuring a brushed nickel centerpiece. The radio is a Thunderbird branded AM/FM/Cassette unit in line with the vent panel on that mid dash band of aluminum. The dash pad is usually the first place the sun has impact, but this one is in very good shape, as the shifter on the floor shows some patina and is surrounded by decent black loop carpet. The clean trunk wears a period plaid mat and carries a spare tire in the allotted depression.

  Drivetrain
The clean and original looking bay houses the rebuilt 312ci V8 rated at 245 horsepower and fueled by a 4-barrel carburetor. Power is routed to the Ford 9" in back with 3.10 gears via a 3-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission, while brakes are configured with drums front and rear.

  Undercarriage
The fuel tank shines bright and was replaced in 2023 along with the fuel sender. The exhaust looks newer as well and features a dual system with stock style mufflers and resonators. There's some general patina underneath and some residual oil on the pans and flywheel cover along with some build up on the power steering system, rear differential, and knuckles. No rust or anything out of place. Suspension consists of coil springs up front and leaf springs in the back.

  Drive-Ability
The 312 fires up without hesitation and we fly the coop in this Thunderbird to find a spirited Ford that tracks straight and handles well, the 75 series tires helping calm the bumps in our road. Peering over that long hood with a central hood scoop bulge is worth the price of admission and every Thunderbird owner knows it! We note the brake lights and reverse lights are not working but all other functions available respond as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Long term ownership has its benefits, and this car has been well cared for for 64 years under the stewardship of one person. It is one of the most iconic classic cars there will ever be and this one is a fine representation that will come to you with receipts and of course, both tops!

      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/ford/thunderbird/1957/listing/225148</link>
      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible

For consignment, a 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible showing 88,361 non-actual miles.  This is a two owner car, owned by our consignor since 1963!  1957 saw Ford add some extra options including power which this one has, a 312ci for this garage kept example in arrest me red.

  Exterior
Iconic white on red adorn this car with Flame Red paint on the body and both a white soft top and white accessory hard top included with the car.  These colors are picked up by the shoes, in this case wide white walls on 14-inch red rimmed wheels and polished ribbed wheel covers.  And those shiny hubcaps are matched by a modest gravel guard on the fender skirt, trim suggesting a vent on the fenders, the bold window trim, and the wrap-around chrome bumpers.  The wonderful grated grille is flanked by headlights that wear a brow of red in front of a center hood scoop, a design that will still look good 100 years from now.  Out back, jet age takes over with exhaust that exit through holes in the bumper and afterburner tail lights rimmed in rocket like trim.  The turquoise Thunderbird emblem is perched on the front and the back and side travelers will see Thubderbird in script, so there's no mistaking this car!  The soft top is dirty but intact and imperfections in the paint include some sandpaper like texture in several spots, bubbling, flaking rust on lower edges, and a sizable scratch down low.

  Interior
While the exterior is immediately recognizable and touted by the general public, it's the interior that we're continually impressed with as materials and design go from the door panels directly to the dash, wrapping the aluminum panels and padded red vinyl almost seamlessly to the front.  The panels themselves look good but the door jambs would benefit from some further detailing.  A red bench seat has tuck and roll patterned pleats, a bit of compression on the driver's side, but in otherwise great shape, facing a red steering wheel with horn ring over its three spokes with the top gap framing an arched instrument cluster, spun aluminum bleeding over from the doors, and round gauges arranged symmetrically.  Black knobs and an AM radio flow right along with the vent control panel that overlaps the passenger side of the cozy cabin.  A simple shifter rises from the floor, black knob and black rubber boot surrounding a chrome shaft, all over red loop carpet in fine condition with some wear and staining in spots.  We also note a tear in the white perforated headliner of the hardtop.

  Drivetrain
A relatively clean engine bay houses the 312ci V8, rated at 245 horsepower and fueled by a 4-barrel carburetor.   It's mated to a 3-speed manual with overdrive, sending power true sports style to the Ford 9" in back with 3.70 gears.  Drum brakes are supplied to the front and rear wheels.

  Undercarriage
Patina and surface rust abounds on the underside but structurally the car appears unharmed.  We note some oil on the rear differential and under engine pans as well as a buildup of grime on the knuckles.  Beyond that, just the typical appearance of usage.  Dual exhaust moves through the X-frame with stock style mufflers and resonators, finally finding their way to the back, meeting the gaps intended for their entry on the bumper.  Suspension consists of coil springs up front and leaf springs in the back.  We note some surface rust on the bottom of each door.

  Drive-Ability
As the purveyor of fine Thunderbirds, we never miss the opportunity to take one for spin on our test loop where this one does not disappoint, providing good power from the 312 and a nice, upright sitting position which allows for good visibility during controlled turns, stops, and acceleration.  Every box for functionality is checked and it's time for this bird to join the flock in the mall.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Look up classic car in the dictionary and you may very well find a photo of a 1957 Ford Thunderbird.  It is without a doubt, one of the most iconic American two seater classic cars in history.  So much so that there's a long list of celebrities who have coveted their own 50's Thunderbird.  According to the Vintage Thunderbird Club's website, the list includes Doris Day, Natalie Wood, Jack Lemmon, Vic Damone, Bing Crosby, Conway Twitty, and Marilyn Monroe to name just a few.  Are you ready to join this elite group?

      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird Roadster

If you're looking for a sweet 50s-era classic that's valuable, fun to drive and has the ability to turn Main Street into an instant classic car show then this is "it" for you.  While we've had our fair share of "baby birds" through our Hallowed Halls, this is the first of its ilk to ever grace out ever changing inventory....the illustrious E-bird.  Fully restored and showing a mere 67,267 title verified actual miles, this is the best Thunderbird one could get without stepping it up to a supercharged version.  312ci of dual 4-barrel V8 power under the hood, a color change to Raven Black, a snappy 2 tone interior and a copy of the Ford Motor Company gate release form accompany this car along with a list of itemized repairs and maintenance performed by County Corvette in 2022.  During this restoration, the owner of this car clearly put his heart and soul into this restoration, leaving virtually no stones unturned.  A labor of love along with the post restoration years of enjoyment and display have kept this final year baby bird looking nearly like new.

  Exterior
When you pen a thin bodied, long hood with a scoop, and canted tail fin 2 seater car, throw on some jet age styling for the taillights, then add on fender skirts, a wrap around windshield, and some chromed trimmings, you have this car.  Mirror like chrome bumpers, an egg crate grille, and for the rear in bumper exhaust ports, this car screams steel sex.  Well minded gaps on the straight rust free, mostly blemish free steel panels covered in Ford Raven Black clad the exterior of this car with only a few minor scratches, chips and and scrapes.  Although the gate release form shows an optional hardtop came with this car new, it is not included now, so this is a soft top/open air cruiser, which isn't a bad thing at all.  14-inch wheel turbine style wheel covers with Ford logoing are seen all around and sport fat white sidewall striped tires in 7.50 form from American Classic.  A tan canvas convertible top is in new condition with the exception of one small tear and can be popped up if you get caught in a shower while motoring with the top down.  The plastic rear window in the top is clear and blemish free.

  Interior
Swing the door and be met with white and black panels that do not know what a straight line is as to their design.  White vinyl mixes with machined swirl pattern aluminum inserts for the door handles and window cranks.  Take a moment to study the white vinyl as there are Thunderbird emblems sprinkled in amongst rectangle embossings.  If that wasn't enough to peak your fancy then turn your attention to the seat, it's a gorgeous black and white vinyl bench with tuck and roll inserts and smooth bolsters that curves neatly into the body styling and allows for the top to hide behind it.  For the dash, a big curved overhanging cowl in padded black vinyl is seen for the topper, and more machined aluminum and a litany of round gauges and chrome bezel black knobs and pulls.  The factory Town &amp;amp; Country AM radio is neatly installed in its factory home and as we gaze across this big padded curved top dash, we can note temp, fan controls, and a nearly hidden glove box, but the deeply inset keyhole gives it away.  A metal lower dash also in painted black and some black kick side panels are complemented by black carpeting with black rubber mats, and hovering above is the original steering wheel, clean as a whistle.  You will be left awestruck...Bee-uitfuhl!

  Drivetrain
The standard 1957 Thunderbird engine was a 292 cubic inch V-8, rated at 212 horsepower and supplied only with the 3-speed manual transmission.  This car however has the optional E code 312ci dual 4-barrel V8 producing 270hp.  We see factory spec power steering on board and under the large silver air cleaner are a pair of correct Holley "teapot" carburetors.  Bolted to the back is a Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission that in turn sends power rearward to a Ford 9-inch axle with 3.10 gears.  We note finned Thunderbird rocker covers and a wonderful red painted block all presenting well and ready to wow the crowd.

  Undercarriage
Up on the lift plenty of nice black paint on the floor pans, rockers and wheel wells.  A strong stable X frame which is also rust free holds up the car with ease.  4-wheel power drum brakes are seen on all corners and dual exhaust with stock style mufflers and resonators evacuates engine gasses quicker than a passenger elevator in a high rise during a fire!  Independent coil sprung front suspension and leaf springs for the back are there for the ride.

  Drive-Ability
Just a well done with passion car, and it drove as such.  On the test track it fired right up, handled nicely, cruised smoothly, and had nice peppy acceleration.  Stopping is no problem with the power drum brakes, but a few frowns crept up during my drive.  The temperature gauge was not functioning and the radio did not turn on and pick up anything on the AM band.

If you want to be the star of that Main Street impromptu car show then take a longer look at this well restored Thunderbird.  Backing a hot 312 cubic inch V8 with a 3-speed automatic transmission, this is definitely your kind of classic!  A lovingly restored, displayed and then sparingly driven car with a copy of the gate release form and some recent maintenance and repair receipts.  Guaranteed to turn your face into a smile when you are behind the wheel of this endearing automobile classic.

      <description>1957 Ford Thunderbird
As a result of European Sports car rising in popularity within the American market Chevrolet unveiled the Corvette at the 1953 Motorama display in New York. Ford needed something to compete and came up with the Thunderbird which was dubbed "a personal car of distinction." It was first shown to the public at the Detroit Auto Show in 1954. They proved to be very well received as despite only 10,000 being planned for they ultimately ended up selling 16,155 total units in 1955. The first generation of "Little Birds" only lasted 3 years and they all looked mostly similar but there were a few changes introduced throughout their run. In 1957 they introduced reshaped bumpers, a larger grill, larger tailfins and larger taillights. These would end up being the last 2 seater Ford sold until the 80's. This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is a beautifully built car that has undergone a complete body off rotisserie restoration. During the process the body was completely sand blasted from top to bottom and it received all new floor plans. The frame was sand blasted as well and the body/undercarriage/frame all painted the same Gloss Raven Black which was the car's original color. The result is a very clean, totally rust free car. The removable hardtop sits nicely in place and does have the side portholes. The glass is all good and it has a new front windshield. All of the chrome throughout has a great shine and every piece received any needed repairs before all were re-chromed. The car has a nice stance and rides on true Thunderbird spoke wheels with knock off style center caps and wide white wall Firestone tires.
Mechanically the car has been completely rebuilt throughout. The original 312 V8 was completely rebuilt and has a nice chrome air cleaner and Thunderbird valve covers. It has been kept very stock under the hood and even utilizes things like the correct FoMoCo hoses. The car runs out great and the motor is paired with the rebuilt original Fordomatic auto transmission and rebuilt stock style rear end. During the restoration everything like the brakes, front end, etc were redone with a variety of repairs. You can rest assured that if the car needed anything, it got it. It has all new wiring and everything is working properly. It has an all new exhaust system, power steering and the generator has also been upgraded to a Powermaster alternator.
The interior has been redone in all Red and the upholstery is all brand new. It is the factory "XH" code Flame Red and is in excellent condition throughout. The seats are comfortable and the seat foam was all replaced. The push button shifter is mounted to the floor and moves through the gears smoothly. The dash has a mostly stock appearance with all of it's factory style trim, knobs, etc. The original gauges were sent off for repair and updating before being installed in their factory cluster. It also received a new Quartz clock. The Radio is the stock style but was repaired/updated to provide a USB connection. One of the features unique to these TBirds is their telescoping column which is nice mounted in place. The trunk offers plenty of storage space and has the correct style floor mat.
This car has been kept in great shape since the restoration and comes with a build book with pictures and a running total of the expenses. You need to see it in person to appreciate how well the restoration was done.
You couldn't build it for our asking price of $62,000.00!
NOW REDUCED DOWN TO $44,900.00!
