1947 Indian Chief. In 1947 when it was brand new it was put in a museum. This has never been rode. It was taken out of its crate and pushed into the museum. Then when I bought it it was pushed onto my trailer. Then pushed into my garage. It was meticulous maintained there at the museum with the oil being kicked through the engine to keep it fresh. Does NOT LEAK A DROP. Racing and broke his chain on his Stream Liner and asked his friend if he could use the chain from the museums Indian Chief for his run if he replaced it with a new one. They agreed so he could finish his attempt to brake his world record. The bike now has .4 miles that's 4 tenths of a mile. Which makes this Indian basically a brand NEW bike. In the 70s someone stole the shifter knob. Museum replaced it with a crystal knob. In the 80s the petcocks interior rubber seals failed and were both replaced. Before I purchased this bike I started it. And after the first 4 kicks with key off to get fuel into the cylinders I turned the key on and on the second kick it fired up with a beautiful roar like the sound of freedom. If something this rare is something you would like to add to your collection bring cash and come take a look. You surely won't be disappointed. When you purchase this motorcycle I will give you the provenance and the name of the owner who purchased this beauty for the sole purpose of putting it in a museum. You ' might ' hint hint... be able to google pictures of him with Burt. If you know the history of the Bonneville Salt Flats back then you will want this Indian and recognize the man who owned it. He's famous to those of us who enjoy the Bonneville Salt Flats or the collector car community car show friends. In 1901 to 1953 Indian Motocycle was spelled this way with out the ' r ' in motor. NOT a typing error. But I'm sure most of you know this. Especially real BIKERS
