<description>INTRODUCTION: This is the real deal- 1 of only 810 W-30 hardtops built. This one has its VIN # matching engine and VIN # matching OW transmission! It retains its factory color and includes the original order form and Protect-O-Plate. A body off frame restoration brought it back to exceptional condition, while an upgraded stance and wheels give this legendary muscle car an even more aggressive presence.

EXTERIOR: The exterior is what really sold me on this car- it is stunning! The masculine body style, aggressive scoops, lowered stance and killer wheels make an awesome impression. The body is excellent, straight, smooth and clean from the rockers to the roof. The hood is crack free and fits very nicely. It was repainted its original Lime Green Iridescent color, which is absolutely beautiful and really highlights the contours of the body. The clear coat is polished smooth and glossy, giving the finish tremendous depth. The W-30 stripes are painted on and smooth to the touch. It looks like virtually all of the chrome and trim has been replaced or restored, including the grilles, and it has the correct notched rear bumper for the exhaust trumpets. Even the jambs are painted slick. The weatherstrips and all of the glass were replaced, and the windows roll up and down like a hot knife through butter. It even has correct T3 headlamps. The upgraded stance is finished off with 17-inch polished billet SS1 wheels wrapped in redline Nitto performance tires. This car has a look that absolutely commands attention!

INTERIOR: It is pretty much immaculate from floor to ceiling! The fresh carpet fits exceptionally well, and it has a clean set of GM seat belts. The seats and headrests have been reupholstered, while the door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles have all been replaced. The entire dash area is neat and clean, featuring Rally Pack gauges along with the Tic-Toc-Tach and a working clock. Only 670 miles are showing on the odometer since the restoration. It also has an AM/FM radio with an 8-track player and a sport steering wheel mounted to a tilt column. Overhead, the visors and headliner are fresh and wrinkle free. Sitting in this car and looking all around, it practically looks new inside.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a beautifully restored and detailed engine compartment, but most importantly, it retains its VIN # matching 455 W-30 motor! It's complete with the rare H-code heads, aluminum W-455 intake and functional Ram Air induction system. It also features power steering, power brakes and cold air conditioning. Every component presents exceptionally well and appears properly installed, while all the metal surfaces are smooth and beautifully painted. Of course, the iconic red W-30 inner fender wells make the engine bay instantly recognizable.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb are finished in the same glossy exterior color, leading into a clean, solid metal compartment with a nicely applied spatter finish. It is fully detailed and complete with a working trunk light, reproduction decals, fresh weatherstrip, and a correct trunk mat. The spare tire and jack assembly are properly in place along with the lug wrench, and a car cover is also included.

UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a complete restoration, and underneath is absolutely clean. The solid metal floors are painted the same beautiful Green Iridescent as the body, while the chassis is meticulously detailed in semi gloss black. It has the Rally Suspension, including front and rear sway bars, boxed rear control arms and even reproduction spiral shocks. Lowering springs give it that aggressive stance. A custom stainless exhaust features an X-pipe and MagnaFlow mufflers. The fuel system was replaced, including the tank, and the brake system was rebuilt with discs up front and a working e-brake. Looking up, the motor is clean, followed by its original VIN # matching Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Most importantly, it retains the OW tag riveted to the transmission- a W-30 specific piece that is significant in documenting this car's pedigree. A rebuilt driveshaft leads back to the rear end with 3.23 posi gears and the desirable W-27 aluminum cover. The quality and attention to detail underneath are just as impressive as the rest of the car.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.

CONCLUSION: This is not only an investment grade genuine W-30, but a car that will make you proud to own and deliver endless enjoyment, whether you're confidently driving it or arriving at a car show. It stands out wherever it's parked and is guaranteed to draw attention no matter what it's next to. With only 810 made, it's unlikely you will encounter many others!

<description>1971 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible&amp;amp;nbsp;- 70,400 miles shown- 455ci Rocket V8- Engine block casting# matches VIN- Cylinder head casting# identifies as 1971/455 ci- Muncie wide ratio 20 4-speed transmission- Transmission identification of 4/14/71- Hurst Shifter- Ram Air Hood- Edelbrock Intake Manifold- Headers/Dual Exhaust- Matador Red (originally Lime Green)- White Vinyl Upholstery- White power-operated Convertible Top- Super Stock III wheels- BF Goodrich White Letter Tires (Purchased 8/25/22)- One of 183 produced with 4-speed, convertible in 1971This 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 Convertible is a highly desirable example of Oldsmobile's final year of 4-4-2 as a standalone model, combining big-block V8 power, a 4-speed manual transmission, and open-air cruising. Showing 70,340 miles, this car is powered by a 455ci Rocket V8 with an engine block casting number that matches the VIN. The cylinder head casting number also identifies the engine as a 1971 455, providing valuable documentation of its drivetrain. With only 1,304 4-4-2 convertibles produced for 1971, these cars are already uncommon, and the 4-speed combination makes this example particularly special.Behind the 455 is a Muncie wide-ratio M20 4-speed manual transmission, with a transmission identification date of April 14, 1971, and a Hurst shifter providing the classic muscle-car connection between driver and drivetrain. For 1971, Oldsmobile made the 455 standard across the 4-4-2 lineup, with the base engine rated at 340 horsepower under the period gross-horsepower measurement system. The lower 8.5:1 compression ratio reflected the industry's move toward lower-octane fuel and tightening emissions requirements, making the 1971 cars an important transition point in Oldsmobile muscle-car history.&amp;amp;nbsp; This 4-4-2 has also been equipped with several performance-oriented upgrades, including a Ram Air hood, Edelbrock intake manifold, headers, and dual exhaust. Together with the 455 Rocket V8 and 4-speed transmission, these additions give the car the aggressive character enthusiasts expect from a classic Oldsmobile muscle car while enhancing its visual presence. The car rides on Super Stock III wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich white-letter tires purchased in August 2022, providing a period-inspired appearance that complements the muscular body lines.Originally finished in Lime Green, the car now wears an attractive Matador Red exterior that contrasts beautifully with its white vinyl upholstery and white power-operated convertible top. The combination gives the car a distinctly classic presentation while highlighting the long, sculpted lines of the 1971 4-4-2 body. With the top down, the car delivers the open-air experience that makes these convertibles so desirable, while the white interior and Super Stock III wheels reinforce its unmistakable early-'70s muscle-car character.Perhaps the most compelling aspect of this Oldsmobile is its rarity. According to enthusiast production records, only 183 1971 4-4-2 convertibles were produced with the 4-speed manual transmission. &amp;amp;nbsp; That makes a 455-powered 4-speed convertible an exceptionally uncommon configuration. With its matching-numbers engine block, documented 1971 455 cylinder heads, Muncie M20 4-speed, Hurst shifter, Ram Air hood, performance upgrades, and striking red-and-white presentation, this 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 Convertible represents a rare opportunity to own one of the most desirable combinations from the final chapter of Oldsmobile's classic muscle-car era.
