      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/pontiac/gto/1966/listing/248557</link>
<description>1966 Pontiac GTO convertible tribute car. It started as a LeMans but now looks like a GTO with all the badging, hood, wheels, grill lamps, etc.… It starts right up every time, runs, and drives excellently! It’s a joy to drive. It has a 326 4bbl carb and a dual exhaust that sounds great, although one of the tips is missing. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. Power steering and power brakes make driving easy, and the power convertible top goes up and down with the push of a button. The body, frame, floors, and trunk are all in good shape, and the bright red paint shines beautifully. The convertible top is new and in perfect condition. The interior is also in great shape: buckets, seats with a center console, and the Rally dash/gauges. Overall, it’s a great car that gets much attention wherever it goes. It's always fun to drive and goes down the road nicely. It's reliable and has enough power to get around in modern traffic. It's not a perfect show or museum car, but you can get in, turn the key, drop the top, and enjoy the wind in your hair! <description>1966 Pontiac GTO Coupe

For consignment, a 1966 Pontiac GTO coupe showing 67,212 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This one has a rebuilt engine, transmission, and rear end and is topped by the coveted Tri-Power carburetion set up!

  Exterior
Long and lean, the family car turned tiger is bathed here in two stage Montero Red that's as hot as a Carolina Reaper with polished accents that include the rocker panel and window trim, bookended by contouring chrome bumpers. The front is reserved for Pontiac's trademarks, including the arrowhead emblem, split grille, and stacked headlights. Giving it a proper muscular look is the central hood scoop with two nostrils fit for a fire breathing dragon. A bowtie shaped rear fascia houses unforgettable slit style tail lights and 15-inch Pontiac Rally I wheels carry 75 series red line tires, a cool feature that eventually made its way to Hot Wheels. The metalwork and paint are excellent on the car and we could not find any glaring exterior imperfections.

  Interior
A red topped GTO emblem on each door panel is a nice accent piece and both doors present cleanly, leading to black vinyl low bucket seats in front with tight tuck and roll pattern, repeated on the rear bench which is just about pristine. The three spoke wood rimmed steering wheel shares its column with a tachometer that fronts a woodgrain faced dashboard housing the standard gauge package, here with some hazing on the plexi fronts. The AM radio and vent lever panel reside in the middle and a trio of condition gauges has been mounted under the dash. There's some patina on the passenger side near the grab handle while the Hurst shifter serves as the driver's grab handle, rising from the center console and its metallic finned design and offset for the driver. Black loop carpet below presents nicely but the headliner shows some sagging. The trunk is clean and houses an extra red line.

  Drivetrain
A clean engine is revealed when the hood is raised, a rebuilt 455ci V8 from 1976 and it's got polished finned valve covers and Tri-Power carburetors on top. It's mated to a rebuilt, date- correct Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission that routes power to the rebuilt 12 bolt out back with 3.31 gears and Positraction.

  Undercarriage
Some muddy road spray is the only thing that detracts from an otherwise clean underside that has minimal surface rust and no errant fluids. Headers begin the exhaust process which generates dual exhaust running through FlowMaster mufflers and exiting through clean stainless steel pipes out back. Power brakes are onboard as front disc and rear drum and suspension consists of coil springs in front and rear with a 4 link in back. A newer gas tank with electric pump and sway bars add to the clean underside.

  Drive-Ability
This is a clean machine and as we turn the key and fire up the big 455, we're hoping it drives well too! It sounds great and takes on first gear like a champ. Then second and third. There's good power here and the car tracks straight and braking is on point. To put a cherry on top of this red rider, all functions on board operate as intended. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Every serious car collection should have a clean GTO. People new to the hobby who are looking for their first, collectible muscle car should consider a classic GTO. For those who have dreamed about a GTO, this one checks all the boxes and is turn key ready. In the world of classic cars, you can put all your money down on red and come out ahead.

      <title>1966 Pontiac GTO</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/pontiac/gto/1966/listing/232388</link>
      <description>1966 Pontiac GTO Convertible

For consignment, a 1966 Pontiac GTO convertible showing 99,527 miles, but the true miles are unknown. Of the 96,946 GTO's produced in 1966, only 12,798 of them were convertibles and how many are left is often the topic of discussion on GTO forums. The consensus seems to be that a small percentage of the 12,000 have survived. This one is a stunning example with tri power under the hood.

  Exterior
Repainted at some point in single stage Montero Red, this slab sided two door is now considered an iconic design and of course, the grandfather of the muscle car era. The stacked headlights front the car boldly and the split grille allows for the characteristic Pontiac nose to shine through, topped of course by the arrowhead and the dramatic hood scoop rising from the hood. In back, slit style tail lights create drama of their own, offering what had to be a unique rear fascia configuration in '66, or any year for that matter. Rocker and wheel opening trim provide some shiny highlights down low and the 14-inch Pontiac Rally II wheels carry 70 series redline tires with an early 2022 date code. The paint and canvas top are in great shape and imperfections are noted as a few bubbles in the paint and curb rash on the wheels.

  Interior
GTO emblems adorn the black vinyl door panels adding a touch of red while stainless trim tops the panel adding some shine that connects with that of the armrest. Ribbed inserts on the black bucket seats repeat on the rear bench and all seating surfaces are in excellent shape. The black steering wheel shows some patina, in particular on the horn section which is missing the center cap, and leads to a clean wood backed dashboard housing original gauges, vent levers, and an AM radio. The dash pad looks newer but shows some warping on the right corner over the red glove box and passenger grab handle. Slight patina is noted on the center console, but this is no deal breaker as it's minor and the shifter is perched and ready. Plush black carpet floods the floor and the trunk is barren and clean.

  Drivetrain
An engine worth showing off, here we have a date correct 389ci V8, rated at an impressive 360 horsepower and topped by the Tri Power carb system and backed by an ST300 2-speed automatic. Power is routed to the 10 bolt axle and slowed through the use of four wheel power drum brakes.

  Undercarriage
No complaints here, the underside is clean and dry. Dual exhaust runs through stock style mufflers and terminates discreetly in back with GTO having ended the chrome splitters option temporarily after '65. Suspension consists of coil springs in front and a 4 link with coil springs in back.

  Drive-Ability
Our pleasant visit with this Goat continues as it runs nicely, tracks straight, and handles well under the respectable power it puts out. We already knew the horn wasn't working and also found the radio was not functioning. All other items operate as they should on this mid-60's classic. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Still one of the most sought after cars in our inventory, there seems to be an undying enthusiasm for first gen GTO's. Even LeMans based GTO tributes sell fast. But this is the real deal and in very nice condition. If you're one of the thousands with classic GTO on your wishlist, be sure to check out this topless red ride today.

      <title>1966 Pontiac GTO</title>
      <link>https://hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/pontiac/gto/1966/listing/231665</link>
      <description>1966 Pontiac GTO Hardtop

For consignment, a 1966 Pontiac GTO hardtop with a title verified 101,286 actual miles. This car was delivered to Jones Pontiac in nearby Lancaster, Pennsylvania and was $3,389 out the door back in '66.  How do we know? The original window sticker and build sheet come with the car along with the PHS documentation.

  Exterior
The Goat still clings to the single stage Cameo Ivory exterior and while not perfect, it still looks good from 20 feet. Stacked quad headlights flank the split grille which house the marker lights and our driver's side light is slightly askew, almost like a wink. The arrowhead is in line with the hood scoop and from the front, the asymmetric profile is due to the single side mirror, as was typical for the time. The tail lights are extra special, a series of nine slits on each side that form a single unit with plenty of white space in between at the end of a long decklid. Our wheels here are Pontiac Rally II's and they carry 70 series tires with a mid 2024 date code. Imperfections begin on the door corner where some uneven filler is found, there's bubbling in spots especially at the rocker panel, cracking paint, and general patina.

  Interior
Red vinyl is the choice here and while it appears clean and intact on the door panels, the driver's seat is torn and compressed, and the passenger side has a tear. Conversely, the rear bench looks as if no one has been back there. Red covers the steering wheel and dash surround while wood veneer backs the instrument cluster fronted by the tachometer on the column and this wood shows some age. The AM radio and fan controls appear as they did in 1966 and a pair of more modern gauges are added under the dash to monitor oil and water. A Hurst shifter is offset in the center console to cater to the driver and look original while semi plush red carpet floods the floor, showing a touch of age and the headliner is in great shape, also red. The trunk is clean and contains a period plaid mat and spare tire.

  Drivetrain
Pontiac Blue colors the block of the 350ci V8 under the hood topped by legendary Tri-Power carburetors and backed by a numbers matching Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission. Power is sent to the 10 bolt rear axle with 3.55 gears and the optioned Safe-T-Track differential. All four hubs are equipped with drum brakes.

  Undercarriage
Mainly clean underneath with some driver quality elements including some surface rust on the exhaust and driveshaft and some oil on the rear differential. The pans are dry and the knuckles are clear. Dual exhaust runs through glasspack style mufflers before finding an exit via steel pipes out back. Coil spring suspension occupies the front independent system while a 4 link with coil springs is equipped out back.

  Drive-Ability
We almost bow in respect before entering this relic from the origins of the muscle car movement. A prime of the gas delivery system and a turn of the key and we were off onto the test loop where many GTO's have come before. This one performs with no surprises, delivering good power, confident tracking, and decent handling for a relatively large car. We note the radio, heater blower, and reverse lights are not working but all other features work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

1966 saw more GTO's leave the factory than any other year, nearly 100,000 in total. They remain strong players in the collector market and are favored by those who were around when they were new. If you were a kid in the 60's but old enough to catch the energy of the muscle car wave that was happening, the GTO has always been on your radar. This one presents a great opportunity and if trends hold, this one will absolutely find a new home. Whether that's at your address or not is your decision!
