<description>This exceptional 1953 Studebaker Commander Regal Starliner is a rare find. Studebakers boasted spectacular European-inspired styling for 1953 courtesy of designer Bob Bourke of the Raymond Loewy studio based in Studebaker's hometown of South Bend, Indiana. The dramatically sleek car, astoundingly low by 1953 standards was just 56.3 inches high while accentuated by a long 120.5 wheelbase. What should have been a magnificent sales year for Studebaker, turned out to be a rather ho-hum one at-best. Studebaker focused more on sedans rather than coupes, and production ills developed as front end sheetmetal failed to fit the coupe body at first. Demand for the new coupes outpaced sedans four-to-one catching Studebaker product planners off-guard while a strike at the Borg Warner plant curtailed availability of automatic transmissions. The car received numerous design awards and today serves as a landmark of modern design.

This classic Studebaker was recently treated to a comprehensive, ground-up restoration and has been carefully driven only 100 miles since its completion. Finished beautifully in Ivory Mist on an arrow-straight body, this rare Studebaker is Stunning. Glistening chrome, correct factory wire wheel covers and wide whitewall tires enhance to timeless design. The interior features red seats and is restored to original specifications, including upholstery patterns, colors and dash.

The rebuilt 232 V-8 engine is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and dual exhaust that purrs at idle and is smooth on the road. The engine bay is authentically detailed, including the unique factory air cleaner designed to clear the Starliner's low hood profile.

  HIGHTLIGHTS:
 • 232 V8 Engine
 • 3-Speed Automatic Transmission
 • 100 Miles on Authentic, Comprehensive Restoration
 • First Year Body Design

This rare 1953 Studebaker Regal Starliner has been beautifully restored to a high standard of quality and authenticity and would be a stellar addition to any collection. Call today!
