“Cars in Barns”, Field cars and other “Treasure”. This Don Prichard Craft Magazine Cover Car was resurrected by Fritz.
Prichards 1957 Chevy – Don Prichard had this car in Craft Magazine (April 1963 Issue) as the Cover Car built in Buffalo, NY about 1962. He showed the car in Upstate New York area for about one year. The car was hit in the left quarter and pushed into another car in front of it while parked on the street. Yup, Don use to drive this beauty everyday.
After that he must have lost interest and sold off what he could. The white pleated seats, door panels, factory dual quads Corvette intake set up and three speed trans with a Corvette stick shift, along with the chrome rims and Spyder caps. A kid who had a paper route and delivered papers to Don’s house struck up a deal and bought what was left for $50. He goofed around with it for awhile and then it sat along side his Mom’s house under a tarp with four flats and dirt for 40 Years.
Fast forward, the son of the guy who bought it in his teens inherited it and wanted to pimp it out and put a big block in it!! After chatting on the H.A.M.B. and a few days on debay, Fritz ended up with the car feeling lucky that he had saved a piece of kustom kar history from, well, becoming history. How it survived sitting on the side of a house and never getting crushed for scrap is a miracle. And can you believe that this car has only 27,000 miles on it! And you can see it’s in rough shape, but Fritz has fixed and restored worse, believe me… Fuzzy
