Can’t beat going to the “The Oldest Running Indoor Hot Rod Show,” the 2017 O’Reilly Grand National Roadster Show at the home of Hot Rodding. It’s the site of the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award (AMBR).

This show is held in 6 buildings with over 500 of the best rides from the West and even from the East – hot rods, kustoms, roadsters, bikes and trucks. In the main building there is a selected group of cars trying for the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster Award. Once known as the Oakland Roadster Show, the GNRS is the longest running indoor car show in the world!

This year’s winner of the prestigious AMBR award was really no surprise. Bruce Wanta from Bellevue, Washington, along with the build team at Troy Ladd’s Hollywood Hot Rods, prepared an incredible 1936 Packard Roadster that was heavily modified – including with a retractable roof – to earn the highest honor.

The Packard, called the Mulholland Speedster, was selected as the best open hot rod in the country for 2017. Presented with the nine and a half-foot tall perpetual trophy, Ladd places his name alongside previous winners like George Barris, Andy Brizio, Boyd Coddington, Barry White and Chip Foose. Ladd and his team were also presented with a $10,000 prize money check for their handiwork.
