It won't be long before Goodguys Rod & Custom Association kicks off its 2018 season with the 8th Spring Lone Star Nationals. March 9 marks the first day of this always-awesome event, which runs at Fort Worth, Texas. Eligibility years for the season have expanded (from '72 to '87), so you can bring your favorite Foxbody Mustang or '70s Camaro!
Goodguys has implemented some changes for this year which should add even more excitement to its events. In Autocross, a 16-car Shootout will now run on Saturday in the late afternoon or evening. This race will include the quickest 16 cars of any class, meaning spectators may well get to see PRO-class racers dodging the cones alongside hot rods and trucks.
Also in Autocross, the Street Machine, Hot Rod and Truck classes will use a season point structure, with first to tenth place in each class granting points (from 10 for first to one for tenth). Champions will receive a feature in the Goodguys Yearbook.
If you're looking to join the fun, all vehicles from 1987 and before are welcome to register anywhere, including the Show & Shine, while the special Spectre Performance All American Sunday (complete with its own Show & Shine) is open to autos of any year at all.
