The gasser that got away. In 1974 when I graduated, there was an ad in a local paper and it said "old car $250.00" so I called the lady and went to look at it and when she opened the garage, I could not believe what I was looking at. All steel 1941 Willys Gasser straight axle aluminum slots all the way around, steel tilt front end. I bought it and mounted a small block Chevy and a 400 turbo and a steel firewall and about a year later I got a divorce, had to sell it. READY FOR THIS $1700.00 and thought I made a million. At today's price I would think $20,000. That was a lot of money back then, but I told the ex-wife I sold it for $500.00 and she wanted 1/2. Mean ex-wife forces sale. BUT at 58 I have another one that I'm making into a nostalgic drag car look-alike for street and race with a 331 HEMI and a 727 trans. Should be running in 2014.
