New CNC-machined two-piece timing cover for GM LS-Series Engines from Hamburger’s Performance looks fantastic and makes valvetrain adjustments a snap.

Whittier, Calif. (March, 2012) – Over the past five years, the GM LS engine family has quickly become the hottest horsepower-per-dollar powerplant on the aftermarket, thanks to huge advances in airflow technology and a plentiful supply of LS1-LS9 engines. Drag racers, hot rodders and tuners know one of the easiest ways to make big LS power is through cam changes and valvetrain adjustment, a task that used to require removing pulleys and dropping the oil pan – until now. Hamburger’s Performance Products is proud to unveil a new precision-engineered billet timing cover that makes GM Gen III engine cam changes and adjustments a clean, easy job.

The new Hamburger 2-Piece Billet Timing Cover for Gen III LS Engines is machined out of a single block of 6061-T6 aerospace grade aluminum, and it’s two piece design allows the upper portion of the cover to be removed for cam changes or tuning while the lower half stays bolted to the front of the block, preserving the main seal. You’ll never need to drop the oil pan to access the cam and the unit incorporates an o-ring seal into the bottom half of the cover that mates with the smoothly machined flange on the upper section to offer a leak-free seal. The cover is proudly designed and manufactured in the USA in Hamburger’s Whittier, California facility.
