In 2011, John Svedberg purchased an old Ford roadster pickup from Michael Aahl of Castro Valley, Calif. He had it shipped overseas to Sweden, where he lived.
That pickup was a '29 Ford Model A, which had lain virtually unchanged since the late '50s, when it had been restored. John decided to try and get it as close to its original appearance as possible, as well as improve its road safety.
He changed the axle angle to avoid bump-steer, and the read end gear ratio to ease rpm for highway racing. He re-routed the exhaust, but used all the original pipes and brackets. White Lincoln hubcaps from '57 added to the car's look - while the vehicle itself was of course much older, much of its current appearance had been determined in the '50s during its restoration.
