Legislation (S.2041) has been introduced in the Massachusetts Senate to require the issuance of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all motor vehicles. Under current law vehicles must display two license plates. The bill is scheduled for a hearing in the Joint Committee on Transportation on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.
