Mid America Motorworks Chief Cheerleader to be Recognized as 1 of 50 Influential Pioneers of the Corvette Hobby

Bloomington Gold Great Hall Inductees Announced for 2013

If you’ve got an aftermarket accessory in or on your ‘Vette, odds are you owe Mike Yager a thank you.  The Mid America Motorworks founder started his business selling jackets, T-shirts, drinking glasses, owner’s manuals, emblems and jewelry out of the trunk of a borrowed car.  Word of mouth, and enthusiastic customer support, helped Mike build this business into the Mid America Motorworks’ empire of catalogues which offer aftermarket parts, accessories and gear to Corvette and Air- Cooled VW enthusiasts.

This year, the Bloomington Gold Great Hall will see Mike’s name up on their honoree wall, along with Corvette Chief Engineer Zora Arkus-Dunton, Corvette Black Book writer Mike Antonick, engine design firm Reeves Calloway, and the institution of Bloomington Gold itself. Auto show presenters Carlisle Productions and it’s co founder Chip Miller, engine producer Bill Mitchell, C5 champion Jim Perkins, and racecar driver Dr. Dick Thompson will also be inducted.

The Great Hall honorees are part of a group of iconic businesses, individuals and cars that signify the importance of the ‘Vette. Over five years, Bloomington Gold is honoring 50 of the most influential people and Corvettes over a five year period, ending in 2014. Yager’s CERV-I, developed by Arkus-Duntov, was inducted into the Great Hall at Bloomington Gold in 2012.

This year’s cars include the following:

1957 Fuel Injection

1961 Gulf Racer

1962 327 CID

1963 Grand Sport

1965 First Big Block

1967 L88 Daytona Racer

1987 Escort Series Racer

Callaway Corvette

C5 Z06
